Used 2015 Lexus IS for Sale nearNew Orleans, LA

How much does the 2015 Lexus IS cost?

Prices have held steady compared to this time last year, signaling a stable and predictable market for this model year.

There are 776 listings available, which gives you a modest amount of inventory to compare before you buy.

Is the 2015 Lexus IS a good car?

Yes — the 2015 Lexus IS earns a 4.6/5 user rating and an 8.33/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Performance, Technology, and Safety.

Owners consistently praise the sporty looks, fun driving experience, and comfortable seats. The feedback also points to a car that feels reliable and fuel efficient, which helps explain its appeal as a daily driver with a premium feel.

The main trade-offs are the firm suspension, which makes bumps more noticeable, and some concerns about transmission and sound system quality. The overview also frames it as a sports sedan that prioritizes driving enjoyment over the usual Lexus emphasis on comfort and quiet, so it fits you best if you want a more engaging sedan rather than a soft-riding one.

Only 31.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals, so the market has some value opportunities but still rewards careful shopping.

Is the 2015 Lexus IS reliable?

Owners rate it 4.6/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner summary describes it as reliable and fuel efficient, and it also suggests that many drivers feel good about living with it over time. The expert cost-effectiveness notes add that reliability is expected to be better than average for the IS 350, which reinforces the case for the right version of this sedan.

The expert driving notes also emphasize refinement and a well-sorted drivetrain, which supports the impression of a car that should feel dependable in regular use. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is choosing a poorly maintained example, especially if prior transmission or audio-system complaints show up in the vehicle history or inspection.

What should I look for when buying a used 2015 Lexus IS?

At 39.3% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the car has been driven hard or modified. Pay close attention to ride quality, transmission behavior, and the condition of the infotainment and audio systems, since those are the areas where owner feedback raises the most concern.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The F Sport version adds sport seats, a more aggressive setup, and a firmer ride, while the standard car is still tuned as a sport sedan rather than a comfort-first luxury model. If you want the most engaging version, the F Sport is the one to focus on; if you want a less rigid ride, the standard setup may suit you better.
• Powertrain: The 3.5-liter V6 makes 306 hp and pairs with an 8-speed automatic transmission. The expert notes describe quick, seamless shifting and strong acceleration, with the car reaching 60 mph in under 6 seconds.
• Safety package: Lexus Enform Safety Connect includes automatic emergency calling after a collision, and the test car also had a reversing camera, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, dynamic radar cruise control, and a pre-collision system. Some of these features were part of the test vehicle’s equipment, so check carefully for them on the trim you’re considering.
• Infotainment: The system uses the Remote Touch Interface, and the Navigation Package adds Enform features such as advanced voice command, Siri Eyes Free, App Suite connectivity, and an Enform Remote app with first-year access. The cabin does not include a wireless smartphone charging tray.
• Fuel efficiency: The EPA estimates are 19 mpg in the city and 28 mpg on the highway, with 22 mpg combined.

Which 2015 Lexus IS trim should I buy?

The 2015 Lexus IS is offered in 1 trim level: IS 350 F Sport.

Here's the short version:

The IS 350 F Sport: This is the trim described in the expert test drive, and it’s the one that best captures the car’s personality. You get the 306-hp V6, the 8-speed automatic, sport-tuned suspension with adaptive dampers, special tires, 18-inch wheels, larger brake pads, and the more athletic character that makes the IS appealing in the first place. It’s the best fit if you want the strongest performance and the most driver-focused setup.

Safety equipment on the test vehicle also included blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, dynamic radar cruise control, and a pre-collision system, so check for those features if they matter to you.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2015 Lexus IS?

The market looks moderate and selective, so you have room to shop, but the best examples still deserve quick action.

• Deal availability: 31.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 776 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have held steady compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 39.3% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $16,711, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2015 Lexus IS's resale value?

The current average of $17,531 sits slightly below last year's $17,616.

That small decline suggests the market has been stable rather than volatile, which is usually a good sign if you plan to resell later. It means the car has not been losing value sharply, and buyers still seem willing to pay for the right example.

Because the price range has stayed tight, condition and equipment will matter a lot when you eventually sell. A clean history, strong maintenance records, and desirable equipment should help your car stand out in a market that is already fairly consistent.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.6/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2015 Lexus IS safe?

The Lexus IS earns a five-star overall rating from NHTSA and a Good rating from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety for moderate overlap frontal impact and side-impact protection levels.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

The safety equipment includes Lexus Enform Safety Connect with automatic emergency calling, plus a reversing camera, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, dynamic radar cruise control, and a pre-collision system that can prepare the brakes and help reduce speed before a collision.

One caveat is that the IIHS had not completed its full suite of testing on this model at the time of the expert review, so the available crash-test picture is helpful but not fully complete.

Should I buy a 2015 Lexus IS or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2015 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2015 if:

• 31.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 39.3% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have held steady compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.6/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The expert review says this generation is a multi-talented sports sedan with high levels of quality and refinement, but little in the way of traditional luxuries.

The bottom line: The 2015 Lexus IS makes the most sense if you want a sporty, premium-feeling sedan and you’re willing to accept a firmer ride and a tighter back seat. If comfort, rear-seat space, or a softer daily-driving experience matter more, you may want to look at a different year or a different Lexus sedan. If price is your top priority, the current market still offers enough inventory and deal activity to make careful comparison shopping worthwhile.
