How much does the 2015 Lexus IS cost?

Prices have softened 1.23% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 757 listings available, which gives you a solid pool of options to compare on price, mileage, and condition.

Is the 2015 Lexus IS a good car?

Yes — the 4.6/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction, and our experts give it 8.3/10 overall. The expert rating is 8.3/10, and the model scores 9/10 across Performance, Technology, and Safety.

Owners consistently praise the sporty looks, fun driving experience, and comfortable seats. The model also gets credit for being reliable and fuel efficient, and the overall package is described as high in quality and refinement.

The trade-offs are worth keeping in mind: the ride can feel firm over bumps, and some owners mention transmission and sound-system issues. It fits you best if you want a premium-feeling sports sedan that prioritizes driving enjoyment over traditional luxury softness.

32.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals, so there is still meaningful value in the market if you shop carefully.

Is the 2015 Lexus IS reliable?

Owners rate it 4.6/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction. Owners also describe it as reliable and fuel efficient, with language that points to a car you can count on for everyday use.

The expert review reinforces that dependability angle by describing the IS as high in quality and refinement, with a reputation for better-than-average reliability in the stronger version of the lineup. It also notes that the model is expected to hold its value well over time.

If you buy used, the main long-term ownership risk is that condition can vary by example, so a careful inspection matters more than the badge alone.

What should I look for when buying a used 2015 Lexus IS?

At 38.7% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the car has been driven hard or modified. Pay close attention to ride quality, transmission behavior, and audio-system operation, since those are the kinds of issues owners have flagged. Because the back seat is cramped, it also helps to make sure the cabin layout fits your real-world needs.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The IS lineup emphasizes sporty styling and a firm ride, and the base setup already leans more toward driving feel than comfort. Higher-spec versions add more equipment, but the core personality stays focused on engagement rather than traditional luxury softness.
• Powertrain: The model offers multiple powertrain options, which broadens your choices if you want either stronger performance or a more balanced daily driver.
• Safety package: The car includes a suite of active safety technologies, along with features such as blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, dynamic radar cruise control, and a pre-collision system.
• Infotainment: The system uses a Remote Touch Interface, and available connected features include advanced voice command, Siri Eyes Free, App Suite connectivity, and remote app functions.
• Fuel efficiency: The EPA says to expect 19 mpg in the city and 28 mpg on the highway.

• Deal availability: 32.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 757 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 1.23% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 38.7% of listings are accident-free.

What is the 2015 Lexus IS's resale value?

The current average of $17,148 sits slightly below last year's $17,362.

That modest decline suggests the market has softened a bit, which can help you as a buyer today but may limit upside if you plan to resell soon. Even so, the year-round range shows the model still holds a fairly tight pricing band, which is a sign of steady demand. If you keep the car in strong condition and avoid accident history, you should be in a better position when it’s time to sell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.6/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

The safety suite includes Safety Connect with automatic emergency dialing after a collision, plus a reversing camera, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, dynamic radar cruise control, and a pre-collision system that can prepare the brakes and help reduce speed before impact.

Should I buy a 2015 Lexus IS or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2015 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2015 if:

• 32.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 38.7% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 1.23% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.6/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The expert review highlights a multi-talented sports sedan with high levels of quality and refinement, plus strong value for money.

The bottom line: If you want the best mix of style, driving enjoyment, and value, the 2015 is the one to target. If you’re shopping mainly on price, you can still find attractive listings, but you should be especially selective about history and condition so you don’t trade away the model’s strengths.
