How much does the 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee cost?

Prices have softened 9.43% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 2,949 listings available, which suggests solid inventory for comparison shopping.

Is the 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee a good car?

Yes — it earns 4.71/5 from owners and 8.67/10 from our experts. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel, Form and function, Technology, and Safety.

Owners consistently praise the stylish design, luxurious features, smooth ride, comfortable interior, powerful performance, and advanced sound systems. The overview also points to a capable, comfortable SUV with a wide range of trims and engines, so you can tailor it to your needs rather than settle for a one-size-fits-all setup.

That flexibility makes it especially appealing if you want an SUV that can feel personal, upscale, and broadly capable at the same time. 30.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals, so there are still worthwhile opportunities in the market.

Is the 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee reliable?

Owners rate it 4.71/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner summary highlights a vehicle that many drivers find stylish, luxurious, smooth, and powerful, while also describing it as comfortable and well-liked over time. The expert evaluation also emphasizes that it is a capable and comfortable SUV with a wide range of trims and engines, which supports the sense that it can be a dependable long-term companion when properly chosen.

The cost-effectiveness notes also point to a strong warranty package, including 5-year/100,000-mile powertrain coverage and roadside assistance, which adds some ownership reassurance. Still, some owners report electrical problems and non-warranty repairs, so used buyers should pay close attention to maintenance history and condition.

What should I look for when buying a used 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee?

At 58.3% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and confirm whether any prior damage was repaired properly. A pre-purchase inspection is especially important on this model because the listing pool includes a sizable share of vehicles with accident history, and ownership feedback also points to some quality concerns.

Focus on the condition of the electronics, interior features, and any expensive options that may have been repaired or replaced. It is also worth checking that the trim you are considering includes the equipment you actually want, since many features were tied to higher trims or option groups.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base Laredo is sparsely equipped, with minimal features, while higher trims add more comfort, convenience, and luxury equipment. The Limited is the trim that pushes the Grand Cherokee firmly toward luxury, and the higher trims add features like ventilated seats, premium audio, and more upscale materials.
• Powertrain: Engine choices include a 3.6-liter Pentastar V6, a 3.0-liter EcoDiesel V6, a 5.7-liter Hemi V8, and an SRT 6.4-liter Hemi V8. The EcoDiesel stands out for strong torque and impressive fuel economy, while the V8s bring more power and towing capability.
• Safety package: Standard safety equipment includes stability control, traction control, multiple airbags, rain brake support, ready alert braking, and trailer sway control. Higher trims add features such as a rear back-up camera, park assist, blind-spot and cross-path detection, adaptive cruise control, and forward-collision warning.
• Infotainment: The base system uses a 5-inch touchscreen, while higher trims get an 8.4-inch screen with SiriusXM, HD Radio, and navigation. Higher trims also add more advanced audio systems and connectivity features.
• Fuel efficiency: The 3.0-liter Pentastar V6 returns 17 mpg city/24 highway in 4WD form, the 3.0-liter EcoDiesel V6 is rated at 21/28, the 5.7-liter Hemi V8 is rated at 14/20, and the SRT 6.4-liter Hemi V8 is rated at 13/19.

Which 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee trim should I buy?

The 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee is offered in 8 trim levels: Laredo, Laredo E, Altitude, Limited, Overland, Summit, SRT, and SRT Red Vapor.

Here's the short version:

• Laredo: This is the entry point, but it is very basic, with minimal features and the fewest comfort and convenience upgrades. It makes sense only if you want the lowest starting price and are comfortable keeping things simple.
• Laredo E: This trim opens the door to a wide range of option groups, including appearance, comfort, off-road, and towing packages. It is the best-value starting point if you want flexibility and plan to build up the SUV with the features you care about.
• Altitude: This trim makes heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, an 8.4-inch Uconnect screen, and a power liftgate standard. It is a smart choice if you want a more polished daily driver without jumping all the way to luxury pricing.
• Limited: This is the trim that most clearly moves the Grand Cherokee into luxury territory, with standard rear camera, Quadra-Trac II 4WD, and Selec-Terrain, plus access to upscale options like ventilated seats and premium audio. It is the best all-around pick for many used buyers.
• Overland: This trim adds a more comprehensive off-road package and standard comfort upgrades like heated front and rear seats, a heated steering wheel, and ventilated front seats. It suits you if you want a more premium and more capable version without going all the way to the top.
• Summit: This is the fully loaded comfort-focused choice, with the broadest mix of luxury and off-road features and only a few remaining choices. It is for buyers who want the most upscale Grand Cherokee experience.
• SRT: This is the performance-oriented version, with a single high-output engine choice and a feature-rich setup. It is the right pick if you want the Grand Cherokee’s strongest on-road performance.
• SRT Red Vapor: This is the most exclusive performance trim, with unique interior trim and the same performance focus as the SRT. Choose it only if you specifically want the special appearance and top-end performance flavor.

The safety package is broad across the lineup, but the rear back-up camera is limited to only a few trims, so it is worth prioritizing if you want that feature.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, with enough inventory and pricing softness to reward careful shoppers.

• Deal availability: 30.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,949 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.43% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 58.3% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $11,657, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee's resale value?

The current average of $11,657 sits slightly below last year's $12,870.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled, which can help you buy more affordably now but may also limit short-term upside if you plan to resell soon. For future sellers, the current softness means condition, trim, and equipment will matter even more when it comes time to list the vehicle.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.71/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee safe?

The 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee earns five-star ratings overall from NHTSA, with five-star ratings in every category except rollover, which earns a four-star rating. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety gives it Good ratings in all categories except Small Overlap Front, which receives a Marginal rating.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard safety equipment includes a 3-point center rear seatbelt, active head restraints, advanced multistage front airbags, driver inflatable knee-bolster airbags, supplemental side curtain and front seat-mounted airbags, electronic stability control, 4-wheel traction control, rain brake support, ready alert braking, and trailer sway control. Higher trims add a rear back-up camera, front and rear park assist, hill-descent control, blind-spot and cross-path detection, adaptive cruise control, forward-collision warning, and electronic rear limited-slip differential.

The main caveat is that the rear back-up camera is not standard across the lineup, and the Marginal Small Overlap Front result is worth keeping in mind if crash performance is a top priority.

Should I buy a 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2015 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2015 if:

• 30.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 58.3% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.43% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.71/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2015 stands out for its broad trim and engine range, letting you tailor capability, comfort, and budget.

Consider the 2014 if:

• At $10,736, the 2014 costs less than the current year's $11,657 average.
• It emphasizes refined daily drivability while still keeping strong off-road capability.

Consider the 2016 if:

• At $13,027, the 2016 costs more than the current year's $11,657 average.
• It leans into towing, off-pavement ability, and Jeep styling with broad appeal.

The bottom line: The 2015 is the best all-around choice if you want the strongest mix of value, features, and variety. If your priority is saving money, the 2014 is the better budget path; if you want to spend more for a similar formula, the 2016 is the next step up.
