How much does the 2015 Hyundai Santa Fe cost?

Prices have softened 9.44% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 187 listings available, which gives you a modest pool to compare prices and equipment.

Is the 2015 Hyundai Santa Fe a good car?

Yes — the 5/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction, and the expert rating is 7.33/10. The model scores 8/10 across Look and feel, Performance, and Technology.

The overview and expert review both frame it as a crossover that balances everyday practicality with a more engaging driving character. You get a useful SUV size, a turbocharged engine with strong get-up-and-go, and a setup that aims to be appealing whether you care more about utility or driving feel.

The market also shows 31.0% of listings as good or great deals, which suggests there are still worthwhile opportunities if you shop carefully.

Is the 2015 Hyundai Santa Fe reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The overview and expert review both point to a vehicle that delivers practical usefulness and strong performance, but they also flag concerns around fuel thirst and overall dependability. The performance notes describe a turbocharged setup that delivers strong acceleration, while the cost-effectiveness discussion says ownership costs should be relatively low thanks to Hyundai’s warranty and roadside assistance programs.

If you buy used, the main long-term ownership risk is that the turbocharged powertrain and broader dependability profile may be less reassuring than the satisfaction score suggests.

What should I look for when buying a used 2015 Hyundai Santa Fe?

At 55.6% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should run a vehicle history report before you commit, then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that focuses on bodywork, alignment, and signs of prior repair. Because the accident-free share is not especially high, condition should matter as much as price when you compare listings.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The standard trims are relatively stripped compared with the more expensive turbocharged versions, and the least expensive base trim misses the reversing camera that other versions get.
• Powertrain: The turbocharged 4-cylinder delivers strong acceleration and passing power, but it is thirsty; the front-wheel-drive setup is estimated at 19 mpg city/26 highway/22 combined.
• Safety package: Blue Link includes automatic collision notification, an SOS emergency assistance button, and enhanced roadside assistance. Blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and lane-change assist are optional on base trims and standard on 2.0T trims, while the reversing camera is standard on all but the least expensive base trim.
• Infotainment: Blue Link telematics is available, with remote vehicle access, alarm notification, stolen-vehicle slowdown and recovery, car-finding, Speed Alert, Curfew Alert, and Geo-Fence features. A Guidance Package adds voice-activated Google destination search, remote sending of search results to navigation, and turn-by-turn directions.
• Fuel efficiency: The front-wheel-drive model is estimated at 19 mpg city/26 highway/22 combined, and the review notes that the turbocharged engine makes it easy to miss official fuel-economy estimates.

Which 2015 Hyundai Santa Fe trim should I buy?

The 2015 Hyundai Santa Fe is offered in 2 trim levels: base trim and 2.0T trims.

Here's the short version:

• base trim: This is the entry point, but it is relatively stripped and misses the reversing camera that other versions get. It can still be equipped with safety tech like blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and lane-change assist, but those features are optional here. Choose it only if price matters most and you are willing to give up equipment.
• 2.0T trims: These are the better-equipped choice because the safety features above are standard, and the turbocharged engine brings the stronger performance this model is known for. If you want the best balance of value, equipment, and driving enjoyment, this is the trim family to target.

The safety package note is important: the reversing camera is standard on all versions except the least expensive base trim, and the driver-assistance features are standard on 2.0T trims.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2015 Hyundai Santa Fe?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, with enough inventory to shop carefully and enough pricing softness to create opportunities.

• Deal availability: 31.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 187 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.44% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 55.6% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $9,709, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2015 Hyundai Santa Fe's resale value?

The current average of $9,709 sits slightly below last year's $10,721.

That decline suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy at a more favorable entry point. For a future seller, it also means you should expect resale pressure if the model continues to age without a major change in demand.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2015 Hyundai Santa Fe safe?

The 2015 Hyundai Santa Fe earns a Marginal rating in the IIHS small overlap frontal-impact test.

It earns a 6/10 safety score from our experts.

Hyundai includes Blue Link emergency services features, and the Santa Fe can also be equipped with a reversing camera. Blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and lane-change assist are optional on base trims and standard on 2.0T trims, which helps strengthen the safety package on better-equipped versions.

The main caveat is the Marginal IIHS result, which is the key safety shortcoming you should weigh carefully if crash protection is a top priority.

Should I buy a 2015 Hyundai Santa Fe or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2015 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2015 if:

• 31.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 55.6% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.44% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The expert summary says it is practical, fun to drive, and worth considering despite safety concerns.

Consider the 2014 if:

• At $9,159, the 2014 costs less than the current year's $9,709 average.
• It is a more sophisticated three-row SUV with roomier, more comfortable accommodations.

The bottom line: If you want the stronger current-market value story, the 2015 is the better primary target because prices have softened and there are still meaningful deal opportunities. If your priority is spending less up front, the 2014 is the better price-sensitive alternative, especially if you want a roomier three-row layout.
