How much does the 2015 Honda Pilot cost?

Prices have softened 4.92% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,513 listings available, which suggests you should have a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2015 Honda Pilot a good car?

Yes — the 2015 Honda Pilot earns a 4.8/5 user rating and a 6/10 expert rating. The model scores 8/10 across Performance and Cost effectiveness.

Owners consistently praise the spacious interior, smooth ride, and family-friendly practicality. The overview also points to its three-row layout and seating for eight, which makes it especially useful if you need room for passengers and cargo. Even so, the same feedback and overview make clear that you should expect an older design with weaker technology and less emphasis on the latest features.

The market also shows 33.0% of listings as good or great deals, which supports the case for shopping carefully.

Is the 2015 Honda Pilot reliable?

Owners rate it 4.8/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

User feedback points to a dependable, family-friendly SUV that many owners feel good about living with over time. The expert review also describes the Pilot as a solid, stout vehicle, and the cost-effectiveness notes say Honda added roadside assistance for the first 3 years or 36,000 miles of ownership. At the same time, expert commentary says reliability and dependability are only average, so you should still pay close attention to maintenance history and overall condition when shopping used.

What should I look for when buying a used 2015 Honda Pilot?

At 57.1% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you are comparing multiple examples at similar prices. Focus on body condition, signs of prior repair, and whether the vehicle has been maintained consistently, since the market includes a meaningful number of cars with accident history. Because this model is also older and light on newer tech, condition matters even more than feature count.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Touring trim gets unique wheels, while the EX, SE, and EX-L are called out as having better-looking wheels. That makes lower trims more about straightforward utility than style.
• Powertrain: The 3.5-liter V6 makes 250 hp and uses Variable Cylinder Management to help reduce fuel use on the highway. The 5-speed automatic and available VTM 4-wheel-drive system support everyday driving and added traction when needed.
• Safety package: The Pilot lacks features such as adaptive cruise control, collision warning, lane-departure warning, and blind-spot monitoring. If those matter to you, you should look elsewhere.
• Infotainment: Touring models include Bluetooth, satellite radio, hard-drive music storage, a rear-seat DVD entertainment system, a 115-volt power outlet, and video input jacks. The Pilot does not offer newer smartphone pairing or connected services.

Which 2015 Honda Pilot trim should I buy?

The 2015 Honda Pilot is offered in 4 trim levels: EX, SE, EX-L, Touring.

Here's the short version:

• EX: This is the trim to start with if you want the Pilot’s core family-hauling usefulness without chasing extras. It keeps the focus on space and practicality.
• SE: Choose this if you want a step up from the EX while staying close to the Pilot’s value-oriented side.
• EX-L: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds more comfort and convenience without pushing into the top-end price territory.
• Touring: Pick this if you want the most equipment, including the unique wheels and the most entertainment features mentioned in the review.

The safety content also notes that the Pilot lacks several advanced driver-assistance features, so trim choice does not solve that gap.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2015 Honda Pilot?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you are patient.

• Deal availability: 33.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,513 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.92% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 57.1% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $11,496, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2015 Honda Pilot's resale value?

The current average of $11,496 sits slightly below last year's $12,091.

That softer pricing suggests the Pilot has already absorbed some of its depreciation, which can help future sellers if they buy at the right price. Because the market is still active and the model remains appealing to family buyers, a clean, well-kept example should be easier to move than one with accident history or visible wear. The biggest resale advantage will likely go to vehicles with strong condition, good maintenance records, and desirable equipment.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2015 Honda Pilot safe?

The 2015 Honda Pilot earns a Poor rating in the IIHS small overlap frontal test and Good ratings in all other IIHS tests. It earns a four-star overall rating from NHTSA.

It earns a 3/10 safety score from our experts.

The safety content makes clear that the Pilot lacks several modern driver-assistance features, including adaptive cruise control, collision warning, lane-departure warning, and blind-spot monitoring. That missing equipment matters because it leaves the Pilot behind newer rivals on active safety. The poor small-overlap result is the biggest caution flag for used buyers.

Should I buy a 2015 Honda Pilot or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2015 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2015 if:

• 33.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 57.1% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.92% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2015 is a roomy, practical family hauler with strong value as Honda prepares the redesign.

Consider the 2014 if:

• At $10,775, the 2014 costs less than the current year's $11,496 average.
• It emphasizes space and utility above all else.

Consider the 2016 if:

• At $14,644, the 2016 costs more than the current year's $11,496 average.
• It brings a redesigned body and more modern safety and infotainment features.

The bottom line: If you want the best mix of price and practicality, the 2015 is the smart middle ground. If you are especially price-sensitive, the 2014 can save you money; if you want newer safety and tech, the 2016 is the better long-term choice.
