The 2015 civic is a great value and great first car for a student or a commuter. It has great road feel, spunky power response, and good features. The visibility with the A-pillars is great thanks to the extra window. It will typically cost more vs. other competitors in the same class, but once you drive it you will understand why. I drove a Hyundai Elantra, which has almost all the same feature offerings in terms of technology and safety. For me, the Civic feels lighter, more powerful, more responsive.

2015 Honda Civic Price Trends
CarGurus tracks the prices of millions of used car listings every year. See how the average price of 2015 Honda Civic prices has changed over time.
See more price trendsHow much does the 2015 Honda Civic cost?
| Metric | Value |
|---|---|
| Current Average Price | $12,159 |
| Year-Round Low | $11,433.55 |
| Year-Round High | $12,300.29 |
| Average Price a Year Ago | $12,141 |
| Change vs. Last Year | +0.15% |
Prices have held steady compared to this time last year, signaling a stable and predictable market for this model year.
There are 2,150 listings available, which gives you a solid amount of inventory to compare. If you find a listing below $11,433.55, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
Is the 2015 Honda Civic a good car?
Yes — the 2015 Honda Civic earns a 4.5/5 user rating and an 8.67/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Cost effectiveness at 10/10.
Owners consistently praise its reliability, fuel efficiency, and user-friendly design. The roomy interior and smooth ride also come up often, which fits a compact car aimed at commuters and first-time buyers. In practical terms, you’re looking at a model that balances everyday usability with strong value, and 29.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
Is the 2015 Honda Civic reliable?
Owners rate it 4.5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction. User feedback repeatedly points to reliability, trouble-free ownership, and a car you can count on for commuting and daily use.
The driving impression also supports that reputation: the Civic’s refined powertrain and composed suspension make it feel settled and dependable on the road. On the ownership side, the included roadside assistance adds a helpful cushion for early used-car ownership.
For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about durability and more about finding a well-kept example that hasn’t been neglected or heavily worn.
What should I look for when buying a used 2015 Honda Civic?
At 50.2% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the car is priced near the low end of the market. Focus on signs of prior bodywork, uneven panel gaps, and any evidence that the car’s features or electronics have been repaired poorly. Because this model is often bought for commuting, condition and maintenance history matter as much as mileage.
Key things to evaluate:
- Trim level: Base LX trims are the most affordable, but they miss the touchscreen infotainment system and HondaLink smartphone connectivity. LaneWatch is standard on all but the LX and SE trims, so base versions also miss that feature.
- Powertrain: Most versions use a 1.8-liter 4-cylinder engine with 143 hp and a CVT. It is tuned more for smoothness and efficiency than quick acceleration, and fuel economy is a strong point.
- Safety package: The Civic includes a standard reversing camera, and LaneWatch is standard on all but the LX and SE trims. HondaLink Assist is also part of the connected feature set when paired with a device.
- Infotainment: Higher trims get a 7-inch touchscreen with HondaLink smartphone connectivity and services. The system supports apps, navigation through a paired smartphone, and Siri Eyes Free with an iPhone.
- Fuel efficiency: The EPA states 33 mpg in combined driving, and one road test returned 31.9 mpg.
Which 2015 Honda Civic trim should I buy?
The 2015 Honda Civic is offered in 4 trim levels: LX, SE, EX Sedan, and Civic Si.
Here's the short version:
- Base trim: The LX is the value play, but it lacks the touchscreen infotainment system, HondaLink connectivity, and LaneWatch.
- Sweet-spot trim: The EX Sedan is the best all-around choice if you want the touchscreen, HondaLink, automatic climate control, push-button start, a power sunroof, and LaneWatch.
- Premium/top trim: The Civic Si is the most fun-to-drive version, making it the pick if you care more about performance than everyday value.
The safety package note to keep in mind is that LaneWatch is standard on all but the LX and SE trims.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2015 Honda Civic?
This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you have room to shop, but the best examples still move quickly.
- Deal availability: 29.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 2,150 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have held steady compared with last year.
- Clean inventory: 50.2% of listings are accident-free.
If you find a listing below $11,433.55, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2015 Honda Civic's resale value?
The current average of $12,159 sits slightly above last year's $12,141.
That kind of stability suggests the Civic continues to hold buyer interest well, which is a good sign if you plan to sell later. A model with steady pricing usually gives you a more predictable exit point, especially when demand stays broad across commuter and first-time-buyer shoppers. Strong value retention also helps protect you from steep depreciation in the near term.
Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Is the 2015 Honda Civic safe?
It earns a Top Safety Pick rating from IIHS and a five-star overall rating from NHTSA.
It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.
The Civic comes with a standard reversing camera, and HondaLink Assist adds collision-notification capability when paired and enabled. LaneWatch is standard on all but the LX and SE trims, but it is not a substitute for a traditional blind-spot monitoring system, so you should still check carefully before changing lanes.
Should I buy a 2015 Honda Civic or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2015 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2015 if:
- 29.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- At 50.2% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
- Price trend: Prices have held steady compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 4.5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
- It delivers strong value, reliability, and fuel economy in a compact package.
Consider the 2014 if:
- At $11,261, the 2014 costs less than the current year's $12,159 average.
- It offers a refined, reliable, and efficient compact-sedan formula.
Consider the 2016 if:
- At $14,124, the 2016 costs more than the current year's $12,159 average.
- It brings a more modern design, upgraded interior, and new engine options.
The bottom line: If you want the best balance of price stability, owner satisfaction, and everyday usefulness, the 2015 is the smart default. If your priority is spending less, the 2014 is the value path; if you want newer styling and more advanced upgrades, the 2016 is the better stretch pick.
