How much does the 2015 Ford Escape cost?

Prices have softened 6.19% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 2,181 listings available, which gives you a solid pool of options to compare.

Is the 2015 Ford Escape a good car?

Generally — the 2015 Ford Escape earns a 4.36/5 user rating and a 7.67/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Performance at 9/10.

Owners consistently praise its value for money, power, and functionality, and many also like the features, especially in the Titanium model. The Escape’s driving experience is another recurring positive, along with its better pickup compared with the Honda CR-V.

It fits your needs well if you want a friendly, approachable family crossover that feels more upscale than basic while still delivering extra ride height and cargo utility. With 29.6% of listings marked as good or great deals, the market still offers some attractive opportunities.

Is the 2015 Ford Escape reliable?

Owners rate it 4.36/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

User feedback points to a vehicle that many owners have found dependable and satisfying over time, with strong value and functionality helping support that impression. The expert evaluation also describes it as a solid, responsive crossover that feels expensive on the road, which reinforces the sense that it is built to be a confident daily driver.

Ford’s maintenance and ownership experience is helped by the fact that the Escape can be serviced with regular fuel and is designed around mainstream mechanicals rather than anything exotic. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that some examples may have been affected by reliability concerns, so condition and maintenance history matter.

What should I look for when buying a used 2015 Ford Escape?

At 64.2% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially on any listing that looks unusually cheap. Pay close attention to bodywork quality, panel alignment, and signs of prior repair, since accident history can affect both reliability and resale value. It also makes sense to focus on how the cabin, tech, and drivetrain feel in real use, because owner feedback points to some concerns around storage space and technology complexity.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The S trim is the simplest version, with manual cloth seats, air conditioning, a 6-speaker audio system, and a manual liftgate. The SE and Titanium add more equipment, and the Titanium brings full leather-trimmed seats with heated, power-adjustable front buckets and a liftgate that opens with a foot gesture.
• Powertrain: The Escape offers a 2.5-liter 4-cylinder, a 1.6-liter EcoBoost 4-cylinder, and a 2.0-liter EcoBoost 4-cylinder. The turbocharged engines are the strongest performers, and all versions use regular fuel.
• Safety package: The Escape includes electronic stability control, a rear-view camera, blind-spot monitoring, cross-traffic alerts, and Curve Control. Active Park Assist is also available, and the tech package is a meaningful part of the vehicle’s safety story.
• Infotainment: MyFordTouch uses a quadrant-style central display, and Sync adds voice control. The available Sony audio system is 390 watts and supports Bluetooth, USB, auxiliary input, HD Radio, and SiriusXM.
• Fuel efficiency: The 2.0-liter EcoBoost with AWD is rated at 21 mpg city and 28 highway, and the vehicle returned around 23.5 mpg combined in testing.

Which 2015 Ford Escape trim should I buy?

The 2015 Ford Escape is offered in 3 trim levels: S, SE, and Titanium.

Here's the short version:

• S: This is the simplest way into the Escape, and it makes sense if you want the lowest-cost entry point and can live without the richer equipment found higher up the range.
• SE: This is the best-value choice for most shoppers because it adds the more desirable EcoBoost powertrain and a broader equipment mix without jumping all the way to the top trim.
• Titanium: Choose this if you want the most upscale Escape experience, including leather-trimmed seating, heated power front seats, and the most premium-feeling feature set.

The safety content notes strong overall protection, but the small overlap frontal crash result is a notable weakness to keep in mind.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2015 Ford Escape?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you have room to shop carefully and still find value.

• Deal availability: 29.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,181 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.19% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 64.2% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $8,272, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2015 Ford Escape's resale value?

The current average of $8,272 sits slightly below last year's $8,818.

That decline suggests the market has become a bit softer, which can work against sellers who are trying to maximize return. If you plan to sell later, pricing competitively will matter, especially because buyers have plenty of comparable listings to choose from.

At the same time, the Escape’s broad appeal and strong owner satisfaction help support demand. Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.36/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2015 Ford Escape safe?

The 2015 Ford Escape earns a four-star overall rating from NHTSA, five-star ratings for side crash protection, and Good ratings from the IIHS in almost all categories, but it also receives a Poor result in the small overlap frontal crash test.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

The safety equipment includes electronic stability control, a rear-view camera, blind-spot monitoring, cross-traffic alerts, and Curve Control. Those features help strengthen everyday confidence, and Active Park Assist adds another layer of driver support.

The main caveat is the poor small overlap frontal result, which is worth taking seriously if you’re comparing used examples and want the strongest possible crash performance.

Should I buy a 2015 Ford Escape or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2015 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2015 if:

• 29.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 64.2% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.19% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.36/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
• It blends upscale feel, strong pickup, and useful crossover practicality.

Consider the 2016 if:

• At $9,037, the 2016 costs more than the current year's $8,272 average.
• It adds Sync 3 for a more modern infotainment experience.

The bottom line: If you want the better value today, the 2015 is the smarter buy because pricing has softened and inventory is healthy. If you’re willing to spend more for a newer infotainment setup, the 2016 is the better secondary path.
