Summary
With 308 currently listed for sale and an average price of $12,137.00, 29.2% of 2015 Cadillac CTS models for sale on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.

Why it stands out
The 2015 Cadillac CTS stands out as a midsize luxury sport sedan that reflects Cadillac’s ongoing transformation. It gets the fundamentals right while asking for more attention to detail, and that combination gives it a more serious, driver-focused character than a simple luxury cruiser. The test-drive impression suggests real athletic ability, with the CTS Vsport described as needing a racetrack to find its limits, which is a strong sign of an outstanding sport sedan.
That appeal is reinforced by the way owners describe the car: many praise its beautiful design, smooth ride, and high-quality interior with impressive technology. At the same time, the 2015 CTS is not without drawbacks. Some drivers report reliability concerns, especially with the sunroof and engine performance, and limited trunk space is another commonly mentioned downside. For buyers, that makes the CTS an appealing choice if style, driving feel, and cabin quality matter most, while also making it important to weigh potential ownership concerns.

The left front fender has a dent in it . But its still a good value. The car just needs a fender as far as I can see. Compared to an E Class Mercedes Benz.

This is my second CTS. They got it right...it's perfect across the Board. I wouldn't change anything! 2.0 Turbo is outstanding in terms of torque and power, but easy on gas. Styling is incredible. Fit and trim outstanding. This car is better than the BMW 535...I'm not kidding!

Reviewed a 2015 Cadillac CTS on Jun 8, 2024
The Cadillac CTS is a great looking car, but it has too many reliability issues: sunroof leaks are a big problem ( design flaw), transmission and timing chain issues are common. The older turbo charged 4 cylinder engines have many reports of piston failures as well. I would only buy one if it had the optional 6 cylinder engine, very low miles and proof of proper maintenance performed. Otherwise, the risk outweighs the gain for me. Plenty of information is out there about this model if a person does their homework before buying.

Is the 2015 Cadillac CTS reliable?
Owners rate it 4.5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.
The owner feedback points to reliability concerns, especially around the sunroof and engine performance, even though many drivers still describe the car positively overall. The expert review also notes that Cadillac’s CUE technology appears to be affecting how owners rate quality and reliability, which is worth keeping in mind if you want a used luxury sedan you can count on.
Cadillac’s safety tech and performance hardware are appealing, but used buyers should still budget time for a thorough pre-purchase inspection and pay close attention to electronics, roof hardware, and overall maintenance history.
What should I look for when buying a used 2015 Cadillac CTS?
At 51.8% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
You should start with a vehicle history report and confirm whether any prior damage was repaired properly. After that, prioritize a hands-on inspection of the body, electronics, and interior condition, since the car’s technology and luxury features are a big part of its appeal. It also makes sense to focus on how well the car has been maintained, because ownership concerns can matter as much as mileage on a used CTS.
Key things to evaluate:
- Trim level: The base version does not include leather upholstery, a split-folding rear seat, a reversing camera, or a decent set of wheels, so you should compare equipment carefully before assuming a lower-priced car is a good value.
- Powertrain: The Vsport uses a twin-turbocharged 3.6-liter V6 with 420 horsepower and 430 lb-ft of torque, paired with an 8-speed automatic, rear-wheel drive, paddle shifters, and driver-selected Tour, Sport, Track, and Snow/Ice modes.
- Safety package: The Driver Awareness Package includes a reversing camera, rain-sensing wipers, automatic high-beam headlights, blind-spot monitoring with lane-change alert and rear cross-traffic alert, lane-departure warning with lane-keeping assist, and forward-collision warning. The Driver Assist Package adds adaptive cruise control, automatic front and rear braking, and automatic collision-preparation technology with automatic seatbelt tightening, and it comes standard on Premium trim level models.
- Infotainment: Cadillac’s CUE system uses a touch-based interface, and the review notes that it can be distracting because it lacks the ease of knobs and buttons for frequently used functions.
- Fuel efficiency: The Vsport returns 18 mpg in combined driving.
Which 2015 Cadillac CTS trim should I buy?
The 2015 Cadillac CTS is offered in 1 trim level: Vsport.
Here's the short version:
Vsport: This is the trim that stands out if you want the CTS at its most compelling. It adds the twin-turbocharged 3.6-liter V6, the 8-speed automatic, rear-wheel drive, an electronic locking rear differential, performance brakes with 4-piston front calipers, and a performance-tuned Magnetic Ride Control suspension. The review makes clear that this version is the genuine performance value in the lineup, and it suits you best if you care most about driving excitement and want the CTS’s strongest personality.
The Driver Assist Package comes standard on Premium trim level models.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2015 Cadillac CTS?
This is a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you stay disciplined.
- Deal availability: 23.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 299 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 9.01% compared with last year.
- Clean inventory: 51.8% of listings are accident-free.
If you find a listing below $11,988.39, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2015 Cadillac CTS's resale value?
The current average of $12,252 sits slightly below last year's $13,465.
That price movement suggests the CTS has softened in the market, which can be a challenge if you plan to sell in the near future. A lower current average can help you buy more affordably now, but it also means you should expect resale pressure if the market continues to favor shoppers over sellers.
Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Is the 2015 Cadillac CTS safe?
The federal government assigns the car a five-star overall rating, while the IIHS gives the CTS a Good rating for tests against which the car has been assessed.
It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.
Cadillac divides its safety tech into a Driver Awareness Package and a Driver Assist Package. The Driver Awareness Package is standard on all models except the base version and includes a reversing camera, rain-sensing wipers, automatic high-beam headlights, blind-spot monitoring with lane-change alert and rear cross-traffic alert, lane-departure warning with lane-keeping assist, and forward-collision warning. The Driver Assist Package adds adaptive cruise control, automatic front and rear braking, and automatic collision-preparation technology with automatic seatbelt tightening, and it comes standard on Premium trim level models.
One caveat is that the CTS has not been subjected to the IIHS small overlap frontal-impact crash test, so you should keep that gap in mind when comparing it with other luxury sedans.
Should I buy a 2015 Cadillac CTS or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2015 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2015 if:
- 23.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- At 51.8% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 9.01% compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 4.5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
- The 2015 CTS Vsport delivers standout performance and feels like a genuine sport sedan.
Consider the 2016 if:
- At $13,537, the 2016 costs more than the current year's $12,252 average.
- The 2016 adds a more refined, high-tech take on the CTS formula.
The bottom line: If you want the better value and are comfortable shopping carefully, the 2015 is the smarter buy. If you’d rather pay more for a newer version with a more polished and tech-forward feel, the 2016 is the cleaner upgrade path. For price-sensitive buyers, the 2015 remains the more compelling entry point.
