How much does the 2015 BMW 3 Series cost?

Prices have softened 7.21% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,339 listings available, which suggests you have a solid amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2015 BMW 3 Series a good car?

Yes — the 2015 BMW 3 Series earns a 4.7/5 user rating and a 7.5/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Performance at 9/10.

Owners repeatedly praise the solid build quality, impressive handling, and luxurious interior, and they also like the smooth driving experience. For you, that means this is a strong fit if you want a sport-luxury sedan that feels more engaging than merely comfortable.

The tradeoffs are the ones you’d expect from the owner feedback and overview: fuel economy, backseat space, and a higher price for its age. Even so, the car’s appeal is strongest if you value driving feel and upscale cabin quality over maximum practicality.

32.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2015 BMW 3 Series reliable?

Owners rate it 4.7/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner summary points to solid build quality and a generally dependable, trouble-free ownership experience for many drivers, especially when the car is kept up well over time. The expert performance notes also reinforce that the chassis and powertrain are built to deliver a confident, composed driving experience.

The cost-effectiveness notes suggest this is not the strongest value-retention play, so long-term ownership risk for used buyers is less about basic durability and more about paying for a premium car that can be expensive to keep feeling premium.

What should I look for when buying a used 2015 BMW 3 Series?

At 53.3% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the car has higher mileage or a long list of options. Focus on signs of prior bodywork, uneven panel gaps, and any evidence that maintenance has been deferred.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The 3 Series is offered in sedan, wagon, and the taller Gran Turismo body style, with available flavors ranging from basic to leather, M-badged equipment, navigation and connectivity options, heated front seats, and parking assistance. Standard equipment is fairly restrained, so base trims can feel light on convenience features.
• Powertrain: You can find 2.0-liter turbo, 3.0-liter turbo, and 2.0-liter turbodiesel engines, with rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive and automatic or manual transmissions depending on configuration. Fuel economy varies widely, and the smallest engine with an 8-speed automatic reaches 24 mpg city and 36 highway.
• Safety package: Standard safety equipment includes antilock brakes, front and rear head protection systems, standard and supplemental airbags for driver and passenger, and emergency notification systems if a crash is detected. Driver-assist packages can add blind-spot monitoring, rear- and top-view cameras, and Active Driving Assistant with lane-departure warnings and adaptive cruise control.
• Infotainment: ConnectedDrive is straightforward, and the navigation upgrade adds a larger screen and heads-up display. Wireless-style convenience is limited by package structure, and Bluetooth audio streaming, rear-view camera, and satellite radio may require separate add-ons.
• Fuel efficiency: The smallest engine with an 8-speed automatic manages 24 mpg city/36 highway/28 combined, while the diesel returns 32/45/37. Adding xDrive reduces mileage by roughly 5 percent.

Which 2015 BMW 3 Series trim should I buy?

The 2015 BMW 3 Series is offered in 3 trim levels: 320, 328, and 335.

Here's the short version:

• 320: This is the entry point, and it gives you the core 3 Series chassis and driving feel at the lowest cost. It makes sense if you want the badge and handling first, but it is the least powerful choice and can feel underpowered in some situations.
• 328: This is the best-value trim for most shoppers because it adds a noticeable power bump over the 320 without jumping all the way to the top-end model. If you want the most balanced mix of performance and everyday usability, this is the one to target.
• 335: This is the performance choice, with the strongest engine and the most urgent acceleration. Buy it if you want the most exciting 3 Series and are willing to pay more for it.

The safety package is available through driver-assist packages rather than as a single standard upgrade, so check each car’s equipment carefully.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2015 BMW 3 Series?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop with some leverage if you’re patient.

• Deal availability: 32.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,339 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.21% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 53.3% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $10,222, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2015 BMW 3 Series's resale value?

The current average of $10,222 sits slightly below last year's $11,016.

That decline suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you as a buyer but may limit upside if you plan to resell soon. For a future seller, the key takeaway is that this model year is not showing strong price appreciation, so condition and mileage will matter a lot when it comes time to list it.

Because the 3 Series still has strong owner satisfaction and a loyal audience, well-kept examples should remain easier to move than neglected ones. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.7/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2015 BMW 3 Series safe?

The 2015 BMW 3 Series earns a five-star overall rating from NHTSA and high ratings from the IIHS, except for its small-overlap front crash test, which earned a marginal rating.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard safety equipment includes antilock brakes, front and rear head protection systems, standard and supplemental airbags for driver and passenger, and emergency notification systems if a crash is detected. You can also find driver-assist packages with blind-spot monitoring, rear- and top-view cameras, and Active Driving Assistant with lane-departure warnings and adaptive cruise control.

That marginal small-overlap result is the main caveat to keep in mind, so if safety is a top priority, you should pay close attention to the exact equipment and condition of any used example you consider.

Should I buy a 2015 BMW 3 Series or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2015 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2015 if:

• 32.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 53.3% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.21% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.7/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2015 keeps the sharp chassis and powerful-engine character while remaining a more affordable used buy than newer versions.

Consider the 2014 if:

• At $10,040, the 2014 costs less than the current year's $10,222 average.
• It emphasizes deft handling and silky engines in a clean four-door body.

Consider the 2016 if:

• At $11,649, the 2016 costs more than the current year's $10,222 average.
• It adds a more thrilling, sports-car-like character with strong everyday usability.

The bottom line: If you want the best balance of price and the classic 3 Series driving feel, the 2015 is the smart default. If you’re especially price-sensitive, the 2014 is worth a look; if you want a more intense performance flavor, the 2016 is the upgrade path.
