How much does the 2014 Volkswagen Beetle cost?

Prices are up 7.00% year-over-year — a sign of continued demand for this model year.

There are 485 listings available, which gives you a useful amount of inventory to compare before you buy.

Is the 2014 Volkswagen Beetle a good car?

Generally — the 2014 Volkswagen Beetle earns a 4.4/5 user rating, which points to solid owner satisfaction. Drivers consistently praise its fun driving experience, unique style, and easy parking, and they also like the spacious interior. That mix fits the Beetle’s role as a characterful compact car with everyday usability, especially if you want something distinctive rather than purely practical. With 35.9% of listings marked as good or great deals, you still have some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2014 Volkswagen Beetle reliable?

Owners rate it 4.4/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

User feedback points to a car that many owners enjoy living with, especially when it comes to the Beetle’s fun driving feel and distinctive personality. The same feedback also suggests that buyers who value a dependable-feeling ownership experience should pay close attention to maintenance history and overall condition. For used shoppers, long-term ownership risk is best managed by choosing carefully and avoiding cars with unclear service records.

What should I look for when buying a used 2014 Volkswagen Beetle?

At 49.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report so you can separate clean examples from cars with prior damage. After that, prioritize a thorough pre-purchase inspection, with extra attention to body condition, panel alignment, and signs of past repairs. Because the Beetle’s appeal depends heavily on how well it has been maintained, condition should matter as much as price.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2014 Volkswagen Beetle?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile options.

• Deal availability: 35.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 485 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices are up 7.00% year-over-year.
• Clean inventory: 49.9% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $11,621, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2014 Volkswagen Beetle's resale value?

The current average of $13,010 sits slightly above last year's $12,159.

That upward move suggests the Beetle has held buyer interest well enough to support pricing. If you buy carefully and keep the car in strong condition, you may be better positioned when it comes time to sell. The model’s distinctive styling and steady demand can help it stand out in the used market, especially when the example is clean and well maintained.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.4/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2014 Volkswagen Beetle or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2014 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2014 if:

• 35.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 49.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices are up 7.00% year-over-year.
• Owners rate it 4.4/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2015 if:

• At $13,293, the 2015 costs more than the current year's $13,010 average.
• It adds a more powerful TDI diesel and broader trim flexibility.

The bottom line: You should start with the 2014 if you want the lower average price and a solid satisfaction signal. If you’re willing to spend a bit more for a broader trim range and a stronger diesel option, the 2015 is the better secondary path.
