How much does the 2014 Volkswagen Beetle cost?

Prices are up 5.68% year-over-year — a sign of continued demand for this model year.

There are 480 listings available, which gives you a moderate amount of inventory to compare before you buy.

Is the 2014 Volkswagen Beetle a good car?

Generally — the 2014 Volkswagen Beetle earns a 4.4/5 user rating, which points to solid owner satisfaction. Drivers consistently praise the fun driving experience, the unique style, and the easy-to-park size, while also noting the spacious interior for a car with this shape. If you want a compact car with personality and a more practical feel than its retro look suggests, this model year fits that use case well. 33.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals, so you still have room to shop selectively.

Is the 2014 Volkswagen Beetle reliable?

Owners rate it 4.4/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

User feedback points to a car that many owners enjoy over time because it feels fun to drive and distinctive to own. That said, the same ownership experience can depend heavily on maintenance history, especially if you want a used example you can count on for the long haul. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is ending up with a car that has been poorly maintained or has unresolved mechanical issues.

What should I look for when buying a used 2014 Volkswagen Beetle?

At 50.2% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and confirm whether any reported damage was repaired properly. Put inspection priority on body condition, panel alignment, and signs of past collision work, then make sure the car drives cleanly and feels consistent under braking, steering, and acceleration. Because reliability concerns have been noted for this model year, a careful pre-purchase inspection matters even more than usual.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2014 Volkswagen Beetle?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently but should move quickly on the best-priced examples.

• Deal availability: 33.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 480 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices are up 5.68% year-over-year.
• Clean inventory: 50.2% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $11,623, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2014 Volkswagen Beetle's resale value?

The current average of $13,126 sits slightly above last year's $12,420.

That upward move suggests the market has been willing to pay a bit more for this model year, which can help support resale value if you buy well and keep the car in good condition. A Beetle with clean history and strong presentation should be easier to move later than one with visible wear or accident history. Because demand is still present, a well-kept example can hold its appeal better than a neglected one.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.4/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2014 Volkswagen Beetle or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2014 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2014 if:

• 33.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 50.2% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices are up 5.68% year-over-year.
• Owners rate it 4.4/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2015 if:

• At $13,326, the 2015 costs more than the current year's $13,126 average.
• It adds a more powerful TDI diesel with improved fuel economy.

The bottom line: If you want the better value play, the 2014 is the stronger starting point because it combines a lower average price with solid owner satisfaction. If you are willing to pay a bit more for a newer model with a broader appeal and improved diesel efficiency, the 2015 is the better secondary path.
