Is the 2014 Toyota Sequoia a good car?

Generally — the 4/5 user rating suggests you can expect a solid ownership experience from this full-size SUV. The overview points to a large, truck-based family SUV with three rows of seating, rugged construction, and a durable, dependable character, which makes it appealing if you want real utility and long-term toughness. Its family-friendly layout and strong towing ability add to the appeal, while the truck-like ride and poor fuel economy are the main tradeoffs to weigh.

33.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals, so you have some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2014 Toyota Sequoia reliable?

Owners rate it 4/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

The overview describes this Sequoia as leaning on tried-and-true hardware, with a robust 5.7-liter V8 and a reputation for durable, dependable character. That kind of setup is a good sign if you want a used SUV built for longevity rather than novelty. Age-related concerns such as rust and brake wear are worth keeping in mind, especially on higher-mileage examples.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that wear-and-tear items can become more important than the core mechanicals as the vehicle ages.

What should I look for when buying a used 2014 Toyota Sequoia?

At 59.1% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report so you can screen for accidents, title issues, and any signs of repeated damage. After that, prioritize a thorough inspection of the frame, brakes, and underbody condition, since rust and brake wear are specifically worth watching on this model. Focus on overall condition and maintenance records, because a well-kept example is likely to be a better buy than one that simply looks clean on the surface.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2014 Toyota Sequoia?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile options.

• Deal availability: 33.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 181 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.67% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 59.1% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $19,370, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2014 Toyota Sequoia's resale value?

The current average of $19,719 sits slightly below last year's $21,127.

That price movement suggests the market has eased, which can help you buy more confidently now but may also limit upside if you plan to resell soon. For a future seller, the softer trend means you should pay close attention to purchase price and condition, because those factors will matter more when it comes time to list the vehicle again. A well-maintained example should still hold appeal thanks to the model’s utility-focused reputation and broad family-SUV usefulness.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2014 Toyota Sequoia or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2014 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2014 if:

• 33.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 59.1% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.67% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: If you want a full-size SUV with proven hardware, strong towing ability, and a reputation for durability, the 2014 is a sensible place to focus your search. If your priority is stretching your budget, you may want to compare nearby years and shop for the cleanest, best-maintained example rather than chasing the lowest sticker price alone.
