How much does the 2014 Toyota Corolla cost?

Prices are up 1.62% year-over-year — a sign of continued demand for this model year.

There are 1,406 listings available, which suggests you have a decent amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2014 Toyota Corolla a good car?

Generally — the 2014 Toyota Corolla earns a 4.3/5 user rating and an 8.00/10 expert rating, which points to broad appeal for everyday use. The model scores 9/10 across Form and function, Cost effectiveness, and Safety.

Drivers consistently praise its excellent fuel efficiency, reliability, and low maintenance costs. The overview also frames it as a straightforward commuter with long-term use in mind, and many owners see it as a strong value for commuting and long drives.

There are tradeoffs, though: some owners say it feels small for families and lacks power. Even so, the market still shows 30.2% good or great deals, which leaves room for value-minded shoppers to find a solid match.

Is the 2014 Toyota Corolla reliable?

Owners rate it 4.3/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

Drivers repeatedly describe it as reliable, and the review summary also highlights low maintenance costs and excellent fuel efficiency, both of which support a trouble-free ownership experience. The expert assessment reinforces that theme by calling it a tremendously reliable addition to your garage and a fuel-efficient daily driver built for long-term use.

The cost-effectiveness commentary also points to Toyota’s reputation as near-bulletproof, which matters if you want a used car you can count on. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about mechanical drama and more about finding a well-kept example that has been maintained consistently.

What should I look for when buying a used 2014 Toyota Corolla?

At 46.5% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the car has any accident history or inconsistent maintenance records. Focus on overall condition, because a Corolla that has been used as a commuter can still vary a lot in wear depending on mileage, upkeep, and prior repairs.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base L is the simplest version, while the S adds a unique front fascia, rear lip spoiler, leather-wrapped steering wheel, and sport bucket seats.
• Powertrain: The Corolla uses a 1.8-liter inline 4-cylinder, with 132 hp in most trims and 140 hp in the LE Eco; the CVT is tuned for efficient daily driving, while the S adds Sport mode and manual shift capability.
• Safety package: Toyota’s Star Safety System is standard and includes vehicle stability control, traction control, antilock brakes, brake assist, and Smart Stop technology.
• Infotainment: All trims include Bluetooth connectivity and a USB auxiliary port, and the Corolla is available with Entune plus HD radio capability, including pause-live-radio functionality.
• Fuel efficiency: The 6-speed manual achieves 28 mpg city/37 highway, the base L with the 4-speed automatic gets 27/36, the L/LE/S with CVT get 29/38, and the LE Eco gets 30/42 with base steel wheels.

Which 2014 Toyota Corolla trim should I buy?

The 2014 Toyota Corolla is offered in 4 trim levels: L, LE, LE Eco, S.

Here's the short version:

• L: This is the entry point, and it gives you the Corolla’s core value proposition with standard LED headlights, Bluetooth, a USB auxiliary port, and the available CVT if you want better efficiency than the basic automatic.
• LE: This is the best-value choice for most shoppers because it adds a more well-rounded equipment mix while staying close to the Corolla’s affordability mission.
• LE Eco: This trim is aimed at efficiency, with 140 hp, low-rolling-resistance tires, and fuel-economy gains, but the real-world payoff is limited.
• S: This is the most distinctive trim, with sport-oriented styling, Sport mode, paddle shifters, and a more aggressive cabin and exterior treatment.

All trims include Toyota’s Star Safety System, so you get the same core safety suite regardless of trim.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2014 Toyota Corolla?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently but still move quickly on the right car.

• Deal availability: 30.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,406 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices are up 1.62% year-over-year.
• Clean inventory: 46.5% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $10,762, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2014 Toyota Corolla's resale value?

The current average of $11,020 sits slightly above last year's $10,844.

That upward move suggests the Corolla is holding value reasonably well for a used compact sedan. For a future seller, that matters because steady pricing usually reflects ongoing shopper demand rather than a model that is falling out of favor.

The Corolla’s reputation for reliability and low ownership costs should continue to support buyer interest. If you keep mileage, maintenance, and condition in good shape, you’re more likely to stay near the stronger end of the resale range.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.3/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2014 Toyota Corolla safe?

The 2014 Toyota Corolla earns a Top Safety Pick from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Toyota’s Star Safety System is standard and includes vehicle stability control, traction control, antilock brakes, brake assist, and Smart Stop technology. The Corolla also comes with 8 standard airbags, front and rear crumple zones, an energy-absorbing steering column, and a tire pressure monitoring system.

Should I buy a 2014 Toyota Corolla or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2014 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2014 if:

• 30.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 46.5% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices are up 1.62% year-over-year.
• Owners rate it 4.3/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
• The 2014 marks the start of the Corolla’s eleventh generation, with a strong emphasis on efficient daily driving and long-term use.

Consider the 2015 if:

• At $11,913, the 2015 costs more than the current year's $11,020 average.
• It adds a more stylish, slightly more enjoyable everyday-driving character.

The bottom line: If you want the better value play, the 2014 is the stronger starting point because it combines solid pricing, broad owner approval, and a reputation for dependable commuting. If you’re willing to pay more for a newer-feeling alternative with a bit more style, the 2015 is the better secondary path.
