How much does the 2014 Subaru Outback cost?

There are 1,159 listings available, which gives you a solid pool to compare prices and conditions.

Is the 2014 Subaru Outback a good car?

Yes — the 2014 Subaru Outback earns a 4.7/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Drivers commonly praise its reliable performance, safety features, and upgraded standard equipment, and many also value its handling and all-wheel drive capability. For you, that makes it a practical fit if you want a capable vehicle for varied driving conditions without moving into a luxury price bracket. With 30.9% of listings marked as good or great deals, you still have room to shop selectively.

Is the 2014 Subaru Outback reliable?

Owners rate it 4.7/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Drivers describe it as reliable, dependable, and well suited to long-term ownership, with many noting its trouble-free performance and durability. The all-wheel drive setup also comes up as a confidence booster for everyday use and changing road conditions. For used buyers, that means the model can make sense for ownership over time, but you should still pay close attention to maintenance history and condition because age-related repair risk rises as mileage accumulates.

What should I look for when buying a used 2014 Subaru Outback?

At 61.3% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report so you can separate clean examples from cars with collision records or repeated claims. After that, prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that focuses on mechanical condition, warning lights, and signs of uneven wear. Because this model year is valued for practicality and safety, you want the best-maintained example you can find rather than simply the cheapest one.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2014 Subaru Outback?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find value.

• Deal availability: 30.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,159 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.88% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 61.3% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $8,817, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2014 Subaru Outback's resale value?

The current average of $8,817 sits slightly below last year's $9,368.

That softer pricing suggests the model has already absorbed some depreciation, which can help future sellers if they buy at the right price. If you choose a well-kept example, you may have a better chance of holding value than if you overpay for a higher-mileage or poorly documented vehicle. Strong demand for practical, capable vehicles can also help support resale when the car is presented with clean history and good maintenance records.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.7/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2014 Subaru Outback or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2014 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2014 if:

• 30.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 61.3% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.88% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.7/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2015 if:

• At $10,907, the 2015 costs more than the current year's $8,817 average.
• It was redesigned for 2015 and is larger and more refined.

The bottom line: You should lean toward the 2014 if you want the lower entry price and strong owner satisfaction. If you can stretch your budget and want the newer redesign, the 2015 is the better upgrade path; if price matters most, the 2014 remains the smarter value play.
