How much does the 2014 Nissan Rogue cost?

Is the 2014 Nissan Rogue a good car?

Yes — the 2014 Nissan Rogue earns a 4.8/5 user rating and a 6.67/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Safety at 9/10.

Owners consistently praise its smooth ride, excellent fuel mileage, and user-friendly nature. They also describe it as a good value with features that feel strong for its age, which fits a practical crossover aimed at everyday usefulness rather than flash.

For shoppers who want a mainstream compact crossover with broad appeal, the Rogue’s value-oriented setup makes sense. It also lines up well with buyers who prioritize comfort and easy day-to-day livability over sporty character.

30.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2014 Nissan Rogue reliable?

Owners rate it 4.8/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Owners describe it as smooth, easy to live with, and a good value, while also praising its fuel mileage and user-friendly character. The broader ownership feedback points to a vehicle that feels dependable in everyday use and well suited to long-term ownership.

The expert evaluation also notes that Nissan has generally shown above-average dependability, even if brand reliability can be uneven compared with some rivals. It also suggests the Rogue should be relatively inexpensive to own and operate.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that this generation was newly redesigned, so durability history is less established than on a carryover model.

What should I look for when buying a used 2014 Nissan Rogue?

At 53.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a careful pre-purchase inspection. Focus on body condition, signs of prior repair, and whether the equipment on the car matches the trim and package claims in the listing.

Pay close attention to how the vehicle presents overall, especially if you are shopping for one of the better-equipped versions. A clean history and consistent condition matter more here because the market includes a meaningful number of cars with prior damage.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The lineup includes the Rogue S, Rogue SV, and Rogue SL. The SL adds leather seats with Quick Comfort heating, a navigation system, a premium Bose audio system, a power rear liftgate, fog lights, 18-inch aluminum wheels, heated exterior mirrors with LED turn-signal indicators, and Around View Monitoring, while the SV sits above the S with more equipment.
• Powertrain: You get a 170-horsepower, 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine with a next-generation Xtronic CVT. Front-wheel drive is standard, all-wheel drive is available, and the CVT includes a Sport driving mode. AWD also adds Hill Descent Control.
• Safety package: The available safety suite includes Lane-Departure Warning, Blind-Spot Warning, Forward-Collision Warning, and Moving-Object Detection. The Rogue SV can add these through the optional Premium Package, while Forward-Collision Warning is reserved for the Rogue SL Premium Package.
• Infotainment: NissanConnect is standard on the SV and SL trims, and the system uses a 7-inch screen in the SL navigation setup. It supports smartphone connectivity, Bluetooth calling, and hands-free text messaging.
• Fuel efficiency: The Rogue is EPA-rated at 28 mpg regardless of drivetrain choice. In testing, it returned 24.4 mpg.

Which 2014 Nissan Rogue trim should I buy?

The 2014 Nissan Rogue is offered in 3 trim levels: Rogue S, Rogue SV, Rogue SL.

Here's the short version:

• Rogue S: This is the entry point, and it makes sense if you want the lowest-cost way into the redesigned Rogue. It gives you the core crossover package, but you give up the richer convenience and safety equipment found higher up the range.
• Rogue SV: This is the best-value trim for most shoppers because it adds NissanConnect and can be paired with the optional Premium Package for a strong safety and convenience upgrade. If you want a smarter balance of price and equipment, this is the one to target.
• Rogue SL: This is the most fully equipped version, adding leather, heated front seats, navigation, Bose audio, a power liftgate, and more standard exterior and driver-assist equipment. It makes the most sense if you want the most upscale Rogue experience.

The safety-package note to keep in mind is that Forward-Collision Warning is exclusive to the Rogue SL Premium Package, while the Rogue SV can add a broader safety bundle through its own optional Premium Package.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2014 Nissan Rogue?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, with enough inventory and deal activity to shop carefully.

• Deal availability: 30.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,311 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.04% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 53.9% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $8,653, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2014 Nissan Rogue's resale value?

The current average of $8,760 sits slightly below last year's $9,129.

That softer pricing suggests the market has moved in buyers' favor, which can make it harder for a future seller to command a premium unless the vehicle is especially clean or well equipped. If you buy at the right price now, you may have less depreciation pressure than someone who paid closer to last year's average.

Condition and equipment will matter a lot at resale time, especially because shoppers in this segment tend to compare listings closely. A well-kept Rogue with strong history and desirable features should hold buyer interest better than a rougher example.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2014 Nissan Rogue safe?

The 2014 Rogue earns a Top Safety Pick rating from IIHS, and the Rogue SL with the Premium Package earns a Top Safety Pick+ rating.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard safety equipment includes a reversing camera and a hands-free text-messaging assistant, while the Rogue SV adds smart automatic headlights. The available safety suite also includes Around View Monitor, Lane-Departure Warning, Blind-Spot Warning, Moving-Object Detection, and Forward-Collision Warning, depending on trim and package.

One caveat is that the reversing camera is described as low-resolution, which can make backing up less confidence-inspiring than it should be. If safety is a priority, you should pay close attention to whether the listing includes the relevant package and whether the camera and driver-assistance features work properly.

Should I buy a 2014 Nissan Rogue or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2014 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2014 if:

• 30.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 53.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.04% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2014 brings a redesigned body, stronger safety availability, and a more modern feature set.

Consider the 2015 if:

• At $9,482, the 2015 costs more than the current year's $8,760 average.
• It carries forward a more polished, mature look.

The bottom line: If you want the better value, the 2014 is the smarter starting point because pricing has softened and the model already brings the redesigned Rogue package. If you can stretch for a newer example and want the next year’s styling refinement, the 2015 is the alternative to compare.
