How much does the 2014 Nissan Rogue cost?

Is the 2014 Nissan Rogue a good car?

Yes — you’re looking at a 4.8/5 user-rated SUV with an expert rating of 6.7/10. The standout strength is Safety at 9/10.

Owners consistently praise the smooth ride, excellent fuel mileage, and user-friendly nature. They also describe it as a good value with features that feel strong for its age, which fits a practical crossover aimed at everyday usefulness rather than flash.

For you, that means the Rogue makes the most sense if you want a comfortable, easy-to-live-with compact crossover that emphasizes value and efficiency. 30.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals, so there’s meaningful market opportunity if you shop carefully.

Is the 2014 Nissan Rogue reliable?

Owners rate it 4.8/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a vehicle that feels dependable in daily use, with praise for its smooth ride, easy livability, and strong value. The expert evaluation also notes above-average dependability as a brand trait, and the Rogue is described as relatively inexpensive to own and operate.

The main long-term ownership risk for used buyers is that this redesign was new enough that durability can vary more than on a proven carryover model, so condition and maintenance history matter.

What should I look for when buying a used 2014 Nissan Rogue?

At 53.2% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the listing price looks unusually attractive. Focus on body condition, signs of prior repair, and whether the equipment and safety features work as expected.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Rogue S, Rogue SV, and Rogue SL each bring different equipment levels, and the base setup is the most stripped-down. The SL adds leather seats with Quick Comfort heating, a navigation system, a premium Bose audio system, a power rear liftgate, fog lights, 18-inch aluminum wheels, heated exterior mirrors with LED turn-signal indicators, and Around View Monitoring.
• Powertrain: You get a 170-horsepower, 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine with a next-generation CVT. Front-wheel drive is standard, all-wheel drive is available, and the AWD setup includes Hill Descent Control.
• Safety package: The Rogue includes a reversing camera and a hands-free text-messaging assistant, while the SV adds smart automatic headlights. The optional Premium Package on the SV adds navigation, Around View Monitor, Lane-Departure Warning, Blind-Spot Warning, and Moving-Object Detection. Forward-Collision Warning is available only on the SL with its Premium Package.
• Infotainment: NissanConnect is standard on the SV and SL trims, and the system uses a 7-inch screen on the SL with navigation. It supports smartphone connectivity, Bluetooth calling, and hands-free text messaging.
• Fuel efficiency: The Rogue is EPA-rated at 26 mpg in the city and 28 mpg combined, and the expert drive returned 24.4 mpg in mixed use.

Which 2014 Nissan Rogue trim should I buy?

The 2014 Nissan Rogue is offered in 3 trim levels: Rogue S, Rogue SV, Rogue SL.

Here's the short version:

• Rogue S: This is the entry point, and it makes sense if you want the lowest-cost way into the redesigned Rogue. It’s the trim to consider if you care most about basic utility and value.
• Rogue SV: This is the best-value trim for most shoppers because it adds NissanConnect and can be paired with the optional Premium Package for a much stronger safety and convenience mix.
• Rogue SL: This is the most feature-rich choice, adding leather, heating, navigation, Bose audio, a power liftgate, and more. It’s the one to buy if you want the most upscale Rogue experience.

For safety-focused shoppers, the SL with the Premium Package is the trim that unlocks Forward-Collision Warning, while the SV Premium Package adds several important driver-assistance features.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2014 Nissan Rogue?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently but still move quickly on the right listing.

• Deal availability: 30.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,306 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.59% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 53.2% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $8,581, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2014 Nissan Rogue's resale value?

The current average of $8,581 sits slightly below last year's $8,901.

That softer pricing suggests the Rogue has become more accessible for used buyers, but it also means future sellers may face a market that is still adjusting downward. If you buy well and keep the vehicle in strong condition, you’ll be better positioned to protect value later.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2014 Nissan Rogue safe?

The 2014 Rogue earns a Top Safety Pick rating from IIHS, and the Rogue SL with the Premium Package earns a Top Safety Pick+ rating.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard safety equipment includes a reversing camera and a hands-free text-messaging assistant, while the SV adds smart automatic headlights. The optional Premium Package on the SV adds navigation, Around View Monitor, Lane-Departure Warning, Blind-Spot Warning, and Moving-Object Detection, and Forward-Collision Warning is reserved for the SL with its Premium Package.

One caveat is that the reversing camera is low-resolution, which can make backing up less confidence-inspiring than you’d expect.

Should I buy a 2014 Nissan Rogue or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2014 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2014 if:

• 30.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 53.2% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.59% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The expert review highlights available safety equipment at a reasonable price.

Consider the 2015 if:

• At $9,386, the 2015 costs more than the current year's $8,581 average.
• It adds a more polished, mature look with graceful headlights and grille.

The bottom line: If you want the better value today, the 2014 is the stronger buy because pricing has softened and inventory is healthy. If you’re willing to pay more for a slightly more refined appearance, the 2015 is the cleaner upgrade path.
