How much does the 2014 Mercedes-Benz S-Class cost?

Prices have softened 9.21% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 684 listings available, which suggests you have a meaningful amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2014 Mercedes-Benz S-Class a good car?

Yes — the 2014 Mercedes-Benz S-Class earns a 5/5 user rating, which points to very strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise its elegance, luxury, performance, workmanship, and comfort, and the model’s flagship-sedan appeal fits shoppers who want a richly appointed, high-end daily driver. If you want a car that emphasizes prestige, refinement, and a polished driving experience, this one lines up well with that use case. With 31.1% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is also a decent amount of market opportunity if you shop carefully.

Is the 2014 Mercedes-Benz S-Class reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Owner feedback highlights reliability alongside comfort and workmanship, and the model is described as having a very good reliability record overall. That combination matters for used buyers because a luxury sedan can be rewarding to own, but long-term risk still rises if maintenance has been deferred or if expensive systems were not properly cared for.

What should I look for when buying a used 2014 Mercedes-Benz S-Class?

At 60.5% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and confirm whether any prior damage was repaired properly. Then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially for suspension, electronics, and other high-cost luxury systems that can be expensive to sort out later. Focus on overall condition and maintenance records, since a well-kept example is more likely to deliver the experience you want from this model.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2014 Mercedes-Benz S-Class?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can be choosy if you’re patient and compare listings carefully.

• Deal availability: 31.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 684 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.21% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 60.5% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $20,985, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2014 Mercedes-Benz S-Class's resale value?

The current average of $20,985 sits slightly below last year's $23,112.

That price movement suggests the market has softened, which can make the car more attractive to buyers now but may also limit upside for a future seller. If you buy at a strong price and keep the car in excellent condition, you can help protect your position when it’s time to resell. Strong maintenance history matters even more in a luxury sedan like this, where buyers tend to be selective.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2014 Mercedes-Benz S-Class or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2014 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2014 if:

• 31.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 60.5% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.21% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: If you want the start of the W222 generation and you value the 2014’s combination of luxury, technology, and strong owner satisfaction, this year makes sense as the primary target. If you’re especially price-sensitive, compare it carefully with nearby years and focus on the cleanest, best-documented example you can find, since condition and history will matter more than small year-to-year differences.
