How much does the 2014 Mercedes-Benz S-Class cost?

Prices have softened 9.43% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 702 listings available, which gives you a solid pool of options to compare.

Is the 2014 Mercedes-Benz S-Class a good car?

Yes — the 2014 Mercedes-Benz S-Class earns a 5/5 user rating, which points to very strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise its elegance, luxury, performance, workmanship, and comfort, and the overview highlights it as a flagship sedan that feels both cutting-edge and deeply substantial. If you want a full-size luxury sedan for comfort, prestige, and advanced features, this model year fits that use case well. With 33.6% of listings marked as good or great deals, you also have a decent chance of finding a competitively priced example.

Is the 2014 Mercedes-Benz S-Class reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback specifically calls out reliability, along with comfort and workmanship, which supports the idea that this car can be a dependable luxury choice when maintained properly. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is less about the basic reputation and more about the cost of keeping a complex flagship sedan in top condition.

What should I look for when buying a used 2014 Mercedes-Benz S-Class?

At 59.8% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should run a vehicle history report on any car you are seriously considering and confirm whether prior damage was cosmetic or structural. A pre-purchase inspection should focus on the condition of the suspension, electronics, and interior features, since this model’s appeal depends heavily on how well those systems still work. Pay close attention to signs of deferred maintenance, because a luxury flagship can become expensive quickly if it has been neglected.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2014 Mercedes-Benz S-Class?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile opportunities.

• Deal availability: 33.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 702 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.43% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 59.8% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $21,016, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2014 Mercedes-Benz S-Class's resale value?

The current average of $21,048 sits slightly below last year's $23,240.

That decline suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy more confidently if you plan to keep the car for a while. For a future seller, it also means resale value may depend heavily on condition, mileage, and service history rather than broad market momentum alone. Well-kept examples should still attract interest because this model has strong appeal among luxury buyers.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2014 Mercedes-Benz S-Class or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2014 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2014 if:

• 33.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 59.8% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.43% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: If you want the earliest W222 S-Class experience and you find a well-documented, well-kept example, the 2014 is a strong primary choice because it delivers the core luxury, technology, and owner satisfaction that define this generation. If you are especially price-sensitive, it is worth comparing nearby years to see whether a slightly newer example offers better equipment or condition for a small premium.
