How much does the 2014 Mercedes-Benz G-Class cost?

Prices are up 3.07% year-over-year — a sign of continued demand for this model year.

There are 118 listings available, which gives you a modest amount of inventory to compare before you buy.

Is the 2014 Mercedes-Benz G-Class a good car?

The 2014 Mercedes-Benz G-Class stands out because it blends military-rooted toughness with unmistakable luxury and presence. Its boxy shape and old-school character are part of the appeal, and even in this era it remained a serious off-roader rather than just a style statement. Buyers looking at this truck were getting one of the most distinctive SUVs on the road, with a reputation for capability and a cabin that had moved well beyond its utilitarian origins.

For this model year, the G-Class was part of the long-running U.S. generation that had received a major refresh in 2013. That update brought a new dashboard with an iPad-like infotainment screen perched atop it, internet connectivity, and driver-assist features such as adaptive cruise control, blind spot monitoring, and collision avoidance systems. The lineup also included the AMG G63, which used a twin-turbo 536-horsepower version of the 5.5-liter V8, while both versions used a seven-speed automatic transmission. Those details help explain why the 2014 G-Class appealed to buyers who wanted serious performance and modern amenities wrapped in a shape that still looked every bit like a classic G-wagen.

The tradeoff is that this kind of exclusivity comes at a cost. The G-Class was expensive to buy and expensive to keep, and fuel economy was not one of its strengths. It was also a vehicle that attracted buyers as much for image as for utility, which means its appeal is as much about character and status as it is about practicality.

With 30.5% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have some room to shop selectively if you want to balance desirability with value.

For used buyers, that means long-term ownership risk is tied more to upkeep costs and maintenance discipline than to everyday simplicity.

What should I look for when buying a used 2014 Mercedes-Benz G-Class?

At 53.4% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should run a vehicle history report on every candidate and prioritize listings with clean records and consistent service documentation. A pre-purchase inspection matters here because condition can vary widely on a vehicle that may have been used hard or maintained inconsistently. Focus on signs of wear, repair quality, and whether the truck still feels tight and well cared for.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2014 Mercedes-Benz G-Class?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer's market, so you can shop carefully without expecting deep bargain-bin pricing.

• Deal availability: 30.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 118 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices are up 3.07% year-over-year.
• Clean inventory: 53.4% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $50,716, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2014 Mercedes-Benz G-Class's resale value?

The current average of $52,279 sits slightly above last year's $50,719.

That upward move suggests the market has held value reasonably well for this model year. If you buy carefully and keep the truck in strong condition, you may be better positioned than a buyer who pays too close to the top of the range. For a future seller, the key will be preserving condition and documentation, since buyers in this segment tend to reward well-kept examples.

Should I buy a 2014 Mercedes-Benz G-Class or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2014 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2014 if:

• 30.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 53.4% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices are up 3.07% year-over-year.

The bottom line: The 2014 is a strong choice if you want the classic G-Class look, serious capability, and a market that still shows meaningful inventory. If you are more price-sensitive, you may want to compare nearby years for a better entry point, but the 2014 remains appealing if you value the refreshed cabin and the model's distinctive character.
