How much does the 2014 Mazda CX-5 cost?

Prices have held steady compared to this time last year, signaling a stable and predictable market for this model year.

There are 712 listings available, which gives you a reasonable amount of inventory to compare before you buy.

Is the 2014 Mazda CX-5 a good car?

Yes — the 2014 Mazda CX-5 earns a 4.62/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Drivers consistently praise its smooth handling, fuel economy, and comfort, and many also like the extra features such as the backup camera and safety sensors. If you want a compact SUV that feels more engaging to drive while still covering everyday commuting and family use, this model year fits that brief well. With 35.5% of listings marked as good or great deals, you also have some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2014 Mazda CX-5 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.62/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also points to a dependable, trouble-free experience for many drivers, especially when it comes to everyday use over the long term. That said, you should still treat any used example as a candidate for careful inspection, since long-term ownership risk depends heavily on maintenance history and prior wear.

What should I look for when buying a used 2014 Mazda CX-5?

At 53.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and confirm whether any reported damage lines up with the seller’s explanation. Put inspection priority on body condition, panel alignment, and signs of past repairs, then make sure the mechanical condition matches the mileage and asking price. Because this model year has a mixed used-market profile, the best buys are the ones with clean records and clear maintenance evidence.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2014 Mazda CX-5?

This is a moderate buyer’s market, so you can shop selectively without expecting deep discounts on every listing.

• Deal availability: 35.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 712 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have held steady compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 53.9% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $10,683, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2014 Mazda CX-5's resale value?

The current average of $11,018 sits slightly below last year's $11,116.

That small decline suggests the market has been fairly stable, which can help future sellers because values are not swinging sharply in either direction. If you buy well and keep the vehicle in strong condition, you should have a clearer path to a competitive resale price later. The model’s steady demand also helps support value retention, especially for cleaner examples with good maintenance records.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.62/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2014 Mazda CX-5 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2014 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2014 if:

• 35.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 53.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have held steady compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.62/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2015 if:

• At $12,370, the 2015 costs more than the current year's $11,018 average.
• It adds a more engaging driving feel with stronger overall appeal for enthusiasts.

The bottom line: Choose the 2014 if you want a lower-cost entry point and are willing to shop carefully for condition and history. If you can stretch your budget, the 2015 is the better secondary path for buyers who want a bit more driving enjoyment and don’t mind paying more.
