How much does the 2014 Mazda CX-5 cost?

Prices have held steady compared to this time last year, signaling a stable and predictable market for this model year.

There are 715 listings available, which gives you a modest amount of shopping choice.

Is the 2014 Mazda CX-5 a good car?

Yes — the 4.62/5 user rating suggests you can feel good about this model year overall. Drivers consistently praise its smooth handling, fuel economy, and comfort, and many also like the performance and extra features such as the backup camera and safety sensors. If you want a compact SUV that feels more engaging to drive while still covering everyday commuting and family use, this model year fits that brief well. With 34.1% of listings marked as good or great deals, you still have room to shop selectively.

Is the 2014 Mazda CX-5 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.62/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The user feedback points to a vehicle that many owners have found dependable in day-to-day use, with praise centered on smooth handling, comfort, and fuel economy. That said, the model year’s reputation is not spotless, so you should treat reliability as something to verify carefully on each individual vehicle rather than assume across the board. For used buyers, the long-term ownership risk is manageable if you focus on maintenance history and condition.

What should I look for when buying a used 2014 Mazda CX-5?

At 55.7% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report so you can separate clean examples from cars with prior damage. After that, prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that checks for bodywork quality, warning lights, and signs of wear that could point to past repairs or neglected maintenance. Because this model year has a mixed reliability reputation, condition matters more than mileage alone.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2014 Mazda CX-5?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently but should move quickly on strong listings.

• Deal availability: 34.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 715 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have held steady compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 55.7% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $10,684, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2014 Mazda CX-5's resale value?

The current average of $11,013 sits slightly below last year's $11,082.

That small decline suggests the market has been fairly stable, which is helpful if you plan to sell later because it points to predictable pricing rather than sharp depreciation swings. A steady price trend can make it easier to estimate your exit value and time your sale. Strong owner satisfaction also helps keep demand healthy among used shoppers.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.62/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2014 Mazda CX-5 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2014 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2014 if:

• 34.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 55.7% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have held steady compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.62/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2015 if:

• At $12,498, the 2015 costs more than the current year's $11,013 average.
• It adds a more enjoyable driving character with stronger emphasis on fun and comfort.

The bottom line: If you want the better value today, the 2014 is the smarter starting point because pricing is stable and the average cost is lower. If you’re willing to pay more for a newer model year and a more engaging overall feel, the 2015 is the better secondary path.
