Is the 2014 Lexus RX a good car?

Yes — the 4.56/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise the comfortable ride, reliability, and luxurious features, and they also call out the smooth driving experience and good value for a luxury SUV. For you, that makes the RX a strong fit if you want a quiet, upscale daily driver rather than something tuned for sharp handling or maximum towing ability. With 34.7% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still meaningful market opportunity if you shop carefully.

Is the 2014 Lexus RX reliable?

Owners rate it 4.56/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Owner feedback repeatedly emphasizes reliability, dependable ownership, and a trouble-free experience, with many shoppers describing it as a vehicle they can count on over time. That said, used buyers should still pay close attention to maintenance records and prior-use history so you can reduce long-term ownership risk.

What should I look for when buying a used 2014 Lexus RX?

At 49.3% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should run a vehicle history report before you commit, then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection from a trusted mechanic. Focus on condition, maintenance transparency, and signs of prior damage or deferred upkeep, since those factors matter more than mileage alone on a used luxury SUV.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2014 Lexus RX?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can be patient and still find a worthwhile listing.

• Deal availability: 34.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 981 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices are up 1.15% year-over-year.
• Clean inventory: 49.3% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $15,212, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2014 Lexus RX's resale value?

The current average of $15,480 sits slightly above last year's $15,304.

That modest increase suggests the market still values this model year, especially when condition and history are strong. If you buy well and keep the vehicle maintained, you should have a reasonable chance of preserving value better than a less sought-after luxury SUV. The RX’s steady demand also helps support pricing when it comes time to sell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.56/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2014 Lexus RX or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2014 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2014 if:

• 34.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 49.3% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices are up 1.15% year-over-year.
• Owners rate it 4.56/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2015 if:

• At $17,233, the 2015 costs more than the current year's $15,480 average.
• It adds a more assertive F Sport personality and updated appeal.

The bottom line: If you want the better value play, the 2014 is the primary path because it combines strong owner satisfaction with a lower average price. If you are willing to spend more for a newer model year and a slightly fresher feel, the 2015 is the secondary path for buyers who care less about upfront cost.
