How much does the 2014 GMC Terrain cost?

Prices have softened 6.54% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 814 listings available, which gives you a solid amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2014 GMC Terrain a good car?

Yes — the 2014 GMC Terrain earns a 4.71/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners commonly praise its spacious cabin, smooth handling, and good value for money, and many also like the comfort and sound system. For you, that makes it a sensible pick if you want a practical compact SUV with a roomier, more comfortable feel than many rivals. With 29.9% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still meaningful market opportunity if you shop carefully.

Is the 2014 GMC Terrain reliable?

Owners rate it 4.71/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also points to a dependable, trouble-free ownership experience for many drivers, with comfort and everyday usability coming through as recurring strengths. That said, used buyers should still focus on maintenance history and condition, because long-term ownership risk is always higher when prior care is unclear.

What should I look for when buying a used 2014 GMC Terrain?

At 58.1% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report so you can screen for accidents, title issues, and inconsistent mileage. After that, prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the listing has incomplete service records or signs of cosmetic repair. Focus your condition check on the engine, transmission behavior, and overall maintenance quality so you can separate a well-kept example from one that may become costly later.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2014 GMC Terrain?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can be patient and still find a worthwhile example.

• Deal availability: 29.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 814 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.54% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 58.1% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $8,023, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2014 GMC Terrain's resale value?

The current average of $8,034 sits slightly below last year's $8,597.

That price movement suggests the model has softened, which can make future resale a little more challenging if you buy at the wrong point in the market. If you plan to sell later, your best protection is to buy well, keep the vehicle in strong condition, and avoid overpaying upfront. A lower entry price can help you preserve more of your value when it is time to move on.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.71/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2014 GMC Terrain or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2014 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2014 if:

• 29.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 58.1% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.54% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.71/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line:

The 2014 is the better path if you want a used Terrain with strong owner satisfaction and a market that still offers some deal potential, especially if you can find a clean, well-maintained example. If you are more price-sensitive, you can also keep shopping nearby years and compare condition closely, but the 2014 remains a reasonable choice when you value comfort, space, and a favorable used-market price.
