Like its predecessors, the 2014 GMC Savana Cargo Van is laser focused on one task: getting the job done. This no-nonsense workhorse offers an impressive range of engine options, copious cargo space, multiple configurations and straightforward instrumentation.
The Savana Cargo Van's design has remained the same for nearly 20 years, but the line offers a new trim for 2014, the Crew Cargo Van. Available in 2500 and 3500 form, the Crew Cargo offers a 3-passenger rear bench seat. It also comes with a swing-out passenger-side door, head- and side-curtain airbags, full-length black rubberized-vinyl floor covering and fixed full-body window package glass. The Crew Cargo adds rear air conditioning and auxiliary lighting with the extended-wheelbase models. There are also three new exterior colors for all 2014 models: Cyber Gray Metallic, Quicksilver Metallic and Bronze Alloy Metallic.
The standard wheelbase on the Savana Cargo Van is 135 inches, which provides 239.7 cubic feet of cargo room and is available in the light-duty 1500 (7,300-pound GVWR) as well as the heavy-duty 2500 (8,600 pounds) and 3500 (9,600 pounds). The extended wheelbase (155 inches) is available on the 2500 and 3500 models and offers 284.4 cubic feet of space.
There are 6 engine choices for the Savana Cargo Van, starting with a 4.3-liter V6 (195 horsepower, 260 lb-ft of torque) that comes standard in rear-wheel drive 1500 models, is paired with a 4-speed automatic transmission and gets 14 mpg city/19 highway. All-wheel-drive 1500 models come standard with a 5.3-liter V8 (310 horsepower, 334 lb-ft of torque) that is also paired with a 4-speed automatic transmission and gets 13/17. The 5.3-liter V8 is an option for rear-wheel-drive 1500 models.
The 2500 and 3500 Savana Cargo Vans (rear-wheel drive only) all come with a 6-speed automatic transmission but no mileage stats, because the EPA doesn't rate vehicles over 6,000 pounds. The standard engine for the 2500 and 3500 models is a 4.8-liter V8 (285 horsepower, 295 lb-ft of torque), but there are three options beyond that. There's a 6.0-liter V8 (342 horsepower, 373 lb-ft of torque), a 6.6-liter turbodiesel V8 with B20 biodiesel capability (260 horsepower, 525 lb-ft of torque) and a 6.0-liter V8 that runs on compressed natural gas (282 horsepower, 320 lb-ft of torque).
All Savana Cargo Van models come with a Driver Information Center that provides useful reminders to drivers who are probably focused on their work. It delivers warnings when the transmission is hot, the fuel level is low, the traction control is disengaged or a vehicle break-in has been attempted; instructions for replacing the fuel filter, cleaning the exhaust filter and servicing the air conditioning; and reminders that the gas cap hasn't been tightened, the turn signal has been left on and that top speed is limited.
Other standard features include air conditioning, power accessories, vinyl upholstery, 60/40 split swing-out passenger-side doors and 16-inch steel wheels. Options include 17-inch steel wheels, a navigation system, rear-view camera, towing package (enabling a maximum 10,000-pound towing capacity for properly equipped vehicles), 6-way power driver's seat, 60/40-split swing-out driver's-side doors, a sliding passenger door, removing the front passenger seat, remote ignition, cruise control, rear parking sensors, heated power mirrors, rear air conditioning, cloth upholstery, keyless entry, two-speaker AM/FM sound system, an upgraded audio system with CD, satellite radio and USB/iPod interface, and OnStar emergency communications.
Standard safety features for the Savana Cargo Van include driver and front passenger air bags, stability control, a tire pressure monitoring system, 4-wheel antilock disc brakes with Hydroboost and daytime running lamps. Optional safety features include head/side-impact curtain airbags, dual side-curtain airbags and a heavy-duty locking rear differential.
4 Overall rating
(2 reviews)Its a GMC Savana. Very slow changes in the model lineup. No used vehicle is a good buy right now. I bought As Isso there is nothing that I can say that is missing. Every full size van in this country is so incredibly expensive that I couldnt compare with anything else.
Fiable, espace satisfaisant. Bon a conduire pour travail continu. Bonne présentation.
