There are 908 listings available, which gives you a solid pool of options to compare.

Is the 2014 Ford Fusion a good car?

Yes — the 2014 Ford Fusion earns a 4.7/5 user rating and a 7.8/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Form and function at 9/10.

Owners consistently praise its sleek design, reliability, high fuel economy, and spaciousness. The overview also points to a polished road feel and a value-oriented package with plenty of tech, which makes it appealing if you want a midsize sedan that feels more upscale than its price suggests.

The market also shows 28.5% of listings as good or great deals, which supports the case for shopping carefully and comparing examples.

Is the 2014 Ford Fusion reliable?

Owners rate it 4.7/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Owner feedback repeatedly highlights reliability, and the broader ownership experience also points to a trouble-free, dependable feel with strong long-term appeal. The expert drive notes that the Fusion has held its value quite well overall, and the cost-effectiveness discussion suggests the hybrid’s smooth operation can help reduce wear on tires and brakes.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that condition can vary a lot from one car to the next, so maintenance history matters more than the badge alone.

What should I look for when buying a used 2014 Ford Fusion?

At 53.2% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the car has any accident history or incomplete service records. Pay close attention to how the controls, brakes, steering, and electronics feel in real use, since those are the kinds of areas that can separate a clean example from a frustrating one.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Titanium trim adds the most upscale equipment, including active park assist, heated and ventilated front seats, adaptive cruise control, navigation, inflatable rear seatbelts, and the Driver Assistance Package. The base S trim is the most stripped-down version, so you should expect fewer convenience and tech features there.
• Powertrain: The Hybrid pairs a 2.0-liter four-cylinder with an electric motor and a CVT, and it emphasizes smooth, efficient operation more than outright speed. It can run on electric power at up to 85 mph, and the system is tuned for seamless transitions rather than hard acceleration.
• Safety package: The Driver Assistance Package includes lane-keep assist and blind-spot alert. Standard safety equipment also includes eight airbags, inflatable rear seatbelts, traction and stability control, adaptive cruise control, lane keep, SOS Post Crash, and 911 Assist.
• Infotainment: The Titanium test car had a touchscreen, navigation, and a 12-speaker Sony audio system. The system is feature-rich, but the interface can be complex and distracting, so you should make sure it works the way you want before you buy.
• Fuel efficiency: The Hybrid was rated at 44 mpg city, 41 mpg highway, and 42 mpg combined after Ford’s update.

Which 2014 Ford Fusion trim should I buy?

The 2014 Ford Fusion is offered in 3 trim levels: S, SE, Titanium.

Here's the short version:

• S: This is the simplest way into the Fusion lineup, so it makes sense if you want the lowest-cost path and can live without the richer feature set found higher up.
• SE: This is the trim most buyers should start with because it balances equipment and value better than the base model, making it the best-value choice for many shoppers.
• Titanium: This is the one to choose if you want the most upscale Fusion experience, with the most advanced convenience and driver-assistance equipment.

The safety-package trim note is that the Driver Assistance Package adds lane-keep assist and blind-spot alert.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2014 Ford Fusion?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you have room to shop, compare, and negotiate.

• Deal availability: 28.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 908 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.65% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 53.2% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $7,572, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2014 Ford Fusion's resale value?

The current average of $7,572 sits slightly below last year's $7,941.

That softer pricing suggests the model is still accessible on the used market, but it also means future sellers may need to stay competitive on condition and equipment. If you buy well and keep the car in strong shape, you can help protect your exit price later.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.7/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2014 Ford Fusion safe?

The 2014 Ford Fusion earns Good ratings from IIHS and a five-star overall rating from NHTSA, though it also earns four-star ratings in frontal crash and rollover, and three-star ratings in front-seat side crash tests.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

The Fusion’s safety equipment is extensive, with eight airbags, inflatable rear seatbelts, traction and stability control, blind-spot alert, 4-wheel disc brakes, adaptive cruise control, and lane keep. SOS Post Crash can activate the hazards and horn and unlock the doors after an accident, while 911 Assist can contact emergency personnel after airbag deployment.

The main caveat is that some NHTSA sub-test results trail the overall score, so you should pay close attention to crash-test details if safety is a top priority.

Should I buy a 2014 Ford Fusion or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2014 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2014 if:

• 28.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 53.2% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.65% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.7/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• Now 1 year off a 2013 redesign, the Fusion continues to add tech while staying a value.

Consider the 2015 if:

• At $7,985, the 2015 costs more than the current year's $7,572 average.
• It looks more distinctive and is described as sexy.

The bottom line: If you want the better value play, the 2014 is the smarter starting point because pricing is softer and inventory is healthy. If you’re willing to pay more for a slightly newer model with a more distinctive presentation, the 2015 is worth a look.

How does the 2014 Ford Fusion compare to the 2014 Toyota Camry?

Our experts score the 2014 Ford Fusion 7.8/10 and the 2014 Toyota Camry 7.5/10.

The Fusion gives you a lower average used price and a more engaging driving character, while the Camry brings stronger fuel economy and a larger pool of listings. If you care most about value and road feel, the Fusion has the edge; if you want a more efficient mainstream sedan with broader market availability, the Camry is the safer bet.
