Owners consistently praise the comfort, spaciousness, smooth ride, upscale interior, and safety features. That lines up with the overview’s focus on a calm, composed large sedan with a refined, premium atmosphere rather than a sporty one. The market also shows 26.6% good and great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2014 Buick LaCrosse reliable?

User feedback points to a car that owners find comfortable, spacious, smooth, and upscale, which supports the idea that it can be a dependable long-term companion when maintained well. The expert notes also describe above-average reliability from one major source, along with a smooth, predictable powertrain and a ride that isolates bumps effectively. Buick’s warranty coverage adds another ownership cushion, including a 4-year/50,000-mile basic warranty and 6-year/70,000-mile powertrain coverage.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that reliability perceptions vary by powertrain and mileage, so condition and maintenance history matter a lot.

What should I look for when buying a used 2014 Buick LaCrosse?

At 55.8% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you’re considering a higher-mileage example. Focus on body condition, signs of prior repair, and whether the car’s comfort and technology features still work as expected. Because some owners mention missing technology and pricing concerns, it’s smart to weigh equipment level and overall condition carefully.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base trim includes dual-zone climate control, remote start, 17-inch alloy wheels, ambient interior lighting, an auto-dimming rear-view mirror, and an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Bluetooth streaming audio and iPod compatibility. The Leather trim adds a rear-view camera, push-button start, heated power-adjustable front seats with memory settings for 2 drivers, heated mirrors with integrated turn signals, rear parking sensors, and leather upholstery. Premium I adds an 11-speaker Bose Surround Sound system, heated and cooled front seats, a heated steering wheel, and a power rear sunshade. Premium II adds 20-inch alloy wheels and navigation. The Leather trim is the best-value step up if you want the V6 and more convenience features.
• Powertrain: The standard setup is a 2.4-liter 4-cylinder eAssist hybrid with 182 hp, 172 lb-ft of torque, and a 6-speed automatic. An available 3.6-liter V6 makes 304 hp and 264 lb-ft of torque and is offered in FWD or AWD form, with the eAssist system not available on AWD models. The V6 is smoother and stronger, while the eAssist setup is the efficiency-focused choice.
• Safety package: Standard safety equipment includes 8 airbags, 4-wheel antilock disc brakes with brake assist, electronic stability control, and OnStar with emergency response services and roadside assistance. Driver Confidence Package 1 adds adaptive HID headlights, lane-departure warning, forward-collision warning, rear cross-traffic alert, and a blind-spot monitor, plus a head-up display. Driver Confidence Package 2 adds intelligent cruise control, automatic collision preparation, and a Safety Alert seat. Package availability varies by trim, with Driver Confidence Package 2 available on Premium I and II models.
• Infotainment: The IntelliLink system uses an 8-inch touchscreen display with crisp graphics and customizable icons. It supports Bluetooth calling, Pandora Internet radio with the app, steering-wheel controls, and enhanced voice recognition. The available navigation system integrates with the gauge-cluster screen, but wireless smartphone integration and OTA capability are not mentioned.
• Fuel efficiency: The eAssist powertrain is rated at 25 mpg city, 36 mpg highway, and 29 mpg combined. The V6 is rated at 18 mpg city, 28 mpg highway, and 21 mpg combined in FWD form, or 17 mpg city, 26 mpg highway, and 20 mpg combined with AWD.

Which 2014 Buick LaCrosse trim should I buy?

The 2014 Buick LaCrosse is offered in 4 trim levels: base trim, Leather, Premium I, Premium II.

Here's the short version:

• base trim: This is the most affordable way into the LaCrosse and already gives you the 8-inch touchscreen, Bluetooth streaming audio, iPod compatibility, dual-zone climate control, remote start, and the eAssist powertrain. It makes sense if you want the lowest entry price and are comfortable with the standard equipment set.
• Leather: This is the best-value trim for most shoppers because it adds a rear-view camera, push-button start, heated power-adjustable front seats with memory, heated mirrors, rear parking sensors, and leather upholstery. It also opens the door to the V6 and AWD, which makes it the trim to target if you want a more upscale and flexible LaCrosse.
• Premium I: This trim adds the 11-speaker Bose system, heated and cooled front seats, a heated steering wheel, and a power rear sunshade. It suits you if comfort and cabin amenities matter more than keeping the price down.
• Premium II: This is the top trim and adds 20-inch alloy wheels and navigation. It makes sense if you want the most fully equipped version of the LaCrosse and are willing to pay for it.

Driver Confidence Package 2 is available on Premium I and II models, while Driver Confidence Package 1 is offered earlier in the lineup.

• Inventory: There are 274 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.58% compared with last year.

What is the 2014 Buick LaCrosse's resale value?

The current average of $10,917 sits slightly below last year's $11,206.

That decline suggests the LaCrosse has softened in the used market, which can be good news if you’re buying now but less favorable if you’re planning to sell soon. For a future seller, the key takeaway is that pricing momentum is currently working against appreciation, so condition and equipment will matter more when it’s time to list. A well-kept example with desirable features should still stand out better than a higher-mileage car with visible wear.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2014 Buick LaCrosse or consider a different year?

• At 55.8% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.58% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The updated 2014 model emphasizes contemporary styling, ultra-premium-grade refinement and materials, and leading safety and convenience technologies.

The bottom line: The 2014 is a solid choice if you want the updated LaCrosse’s refined feel, strong safety reputation, and comfortable road manners. If you’re especially price-sensitive, you can shop carefully for a lower-mileage example or a well-equipped trim that gives you the features you want without stretching to the top of the range.

How does the 2014 Buick LaCrosse compare to the 2014 Chevrolet Impala?

Our experts score the 2014 Buick LaCrosse 7.8/10 and the 2014 Chevrolet Impala 7.8/10.

The LaCrosse is the more efficient choice, while the Impala offers a lower average used price and more listings to shop from.
