Buick’s coverage includes a 4-year/50,000-mile basic warranty and 6 years or 70,000 miles of powertrain coverage, which adds some ownership reassurance.

That said, used buyers should still pay close attention to maintenance history and mileage, especially on higher-mileage examples where wear and repair risk can rise.

What should I look for when buying a used 2014 Buick LaCrosse?

At 55.3% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a thorough pre-purchase inspection, especially if the car has higher mileage or a lower asking price. Focus on body condition, signs of prior repair, and whether the cabin and electronics still match the car’s advertised equipment. Because owner feedback mentions missing technology on some examples, it’s also smart to confirm the features you care about are actually present and working.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base trim includes dual-zone climate control, remote start, 17-inch alloy wheels, ambient interior lighting, an auto-dimming rear-view mirror, and an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Bluetooth streaming audio and iPod compatibility. The Leather trim adds leather upholstery, heated power-adjustable front seats with memory settings for 2 drivers, heated mirrors with integrated turn signals, rear parking sensors, and a rear-view camera, while AWD versions also get 19-inch alloy wheels. Premium I adds heated and cooled front seats, a heated steering wheel, an 11-speaker Bose Surround Sound system, and a power rear sunshade, while Premium II adds 20-inch alloy wheels and navigation.

It makes 182 hp and 172 lb-ft of torque and is rated at 25 mpg city, 36 mpg highway, and 29 mpg combined. The gauge-cluster screen can also show fuel economy, tire pressure, maps for the optional navigation system, and safety alerts.

Which 2014 Buick LaCrosse trim should I buy?

The 2014 Buick LaCrosse is offered in 4 trim levels: base, Leather, Premium I, Premium II.

Here's the short version:

• base: This is the value starting point if you want the LaCrosse’s comfort-first character and the standard eAssist powertrain without paying for extra luxury or convenience equipment. It gives you the core upscale feel, but it’s the most stripped-down version in the lineup.
• Leather: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds the rear-view camera, heated power front seats, memory settings, rear parking sensors, and leather upholstery. It also opens the door to AWD with the V6, making it the trim to target if you want a more complete package without jumping too far upmarket.
• Premium I: Choose this if you want a more luxurious daily driver, since it adds the Bose audio system, heated and cooled front seats, a heated steering wheel, and a power rear sunshade. It’s the right fit if comfort and cabin amenities matter more than price.
• Premium II: This is the top-end choice if you want the most equipment, including navigation and 20-inch alloy wheels. It makes sense if you want the most fully equipped LaCrosse and are willing to pay for it.

Driver Confidence Package 1 and Driver Confidence Package 2 add important safety technology, so check whether the car you’re considering has one of those packages.

• Deal availability: 28.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 282 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.98% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 55.3% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $10,480, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2014 Buick LaCrosse's resale value?

The current average of $10,755 sits slightly below last year's $11,200.

That decline suggests the market has softened, which can work in your favor if you’re buying now but may limit upside if you plan to sell soon. For a future seller, the key takeaway is that pricing discipline matters: a clean, well-equipped example should still attract interest, but overpricing will likely slow your sale. The current range also shows that buyers have some leverage, so condition and equipment will matter a lot when it comes time to resell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Available Driver Confidence Package 1 adds adaptive HID headlights, lane-departure warning, forward-collision warning, rear cross-traffic alert, and a blind-spot monitor, while Driver Confidence Package 2 adds intelligent cruise control, automatic collision preparation, and a Safety Alert seat. The safety story is especially strong for shoppers who want a large sedan with a broad set of available driver-assistance features.

Should I buy a 2014 Buick LaCrosse or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2014 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2014 if:

• 28.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 55.3% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.98% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The updated 2014 model brings contemporary styling, ultra-premium-grade refinement and materials, and leading safety and convenience technologies.

The bottom line: The 2014 LaCrosse makes sense if you want a comfortable, upscale sedan and you’re willing to shop carefully for condition and history. If you’re especially price-sensitive, the softened market and decent deal share make this a reasonable year to target, but you should still prioritize a clean example with the equipment you want.
