If you’re shopping used, that means you should focus on maintenance history and overall condition, since age-related wear and prior-owner care matter more as these vehicles get older.

What should I look for when buying a used 2014 Buick Enclave?

At 56.8% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a thorough pre-purchase inspection. Pay close attention to signs of prior bodywork, hidden damage, and wear that could affect long-term ownership costs. Because this model is now several years old, condition matters as much as equipment.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Convenience trim brings tri-zone automatic climate control, remote start, 18-inch alloy wheels, automatic HID headlights, a power liftgate, heated mirrors with integrated turn signals, and 7-passenger seating with second-row captain’s chairs and a split-folding third-row bench. The Leather trim adds heated front seats, memory settings for two drivers, and 19-inch alloys. The Premium trim adds a power tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel, heated and cooled front seats, additional safety features, auto-dimming and power-folding exterior mirrors, 19-inch chrome rims, standard Bose speakers, and adaptive headlights.
• Powertrain: The Enclave uses a 3.6-liter V6 with 288 hp and a 6-speed automatic transmission. EPA estimates are 17 mpg city and 24 mpg highway for FWD models, and 16 mpg city and 22 mpg highway for AWD models.

Leather models add a blind-spot monitor with cross-traffic alert, while Premium models add lane-departure warning and forward-collision alert.
• Infotainment: The Enclave uses a 6.5-inch touchscreen with Bluetooth connectivity, voice recognition, text-to-voice functionality, integrated smartphone-based apps, and rear charge-only USB ports. A Wi-Fi Connectivity Package is optional.
• Fuel efficiency: FWD models are rated at 17 mpg city and 24 mpg highway, while AWD models are rated at 16 mpg city and 22 mpg highway.

Which 2014 Buick Enclave trim should I buy?

The 2014 Buick Enclave is offered in 3 trim levels: Convenience, Leather, Premium.

Here's the short version:

• Convenience: This is the value play if you want the Enclave’s core strengths without paying for extras. You still get tri-zone climate control, remote start, a power liftgate, and 7-passenger seating, so it covers the basics well.
• Leather: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds heated front seats, driver memory settings, and 19-inch alloys without jumping all the way to the top model. If you want a more upscale daily driver, this is the trim to target first.
• Premium: Choose this if you want the most comfort and the most safety equipment, including heated and cooled front seats, adaptive headlights, lane-departure warning, and forward-collision alert.

Leather models add a blind-spot monitor with cross-traffic alert, and Premium models add lane-departure warning and forward-collision alert.

• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.58% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $8,272, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2014 Buick Enclave's resale value?

The current average of $8,285 sits slightly below last year's $9,162.

That softer pricing trend suggests the Enclave has already absorbed some of its depreciation, which can help future sellers if they buy at the right price. If you purchase near the low end of the current range and keep the vehicle in strong condition, you may have a better chance of limiting your loss later. The market still appears to reward well-kept examples, especially when buyers can see a clean history and good equipment.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2014 Buick Enclave or consider a different year?

• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.58% compared with last year.

• The 2014 model continues to impress with its style, versatility, and value, even as the need for improvements grows more obvious.

The bottom line: The 2014 Enclave makes sense if you want a comfortable, spacious, value-oriented three-row crossover and you’re willing to shop carefully for condition and history. If you’re especially price-sensitive, the current market gives you room to compare listings and wait for a strong deal, but you should still prioritize a clean vehicle history and a thorough inspection.

How does the 2014 Buick Enclave compare to the 2014 Chevrolet Traverse?

Our experts score the 2014 Buick Enclave 7.2/10 and the 2014 Chevrolet Traverse 7.7/10.

The Traverse edges ahead on the expert score, while the Enclave counters with a more upscale feel and stronger value positioning. Both share similar size, power, and fuel economy, but the Enclave’s higher average used price reflects its premium-brand positioning. If you want the more affordable route, the Traverse is the easier buy; if you want a more polished cabin and Buick branding, the Enclave is the one to focus on.
