How much does the 2014 BMW 5 Series cost?

Prices have softened 5.88% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 799 listings available, which suggests solid inventory for comparison shopping.

Is the 2014 BMW 5 Series a good car?

Yes — the 2014 BMW 5 Series earns a 4.5/5 user rating, which points to generally strong owner satisfaction. Drivers most often praise the smooth and comfortable ride, the performance, and the interior features, while the model’s luxury-and-performance balance is a recurring strength. For you, that makes it a compelling choice if you want a midsize luxury sedan that still emphasizes driving feel and a well-equipped cabin. With 32.8% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still meaningful market opportunity if you shop carefully.

Is the 2014 BMW 5 Series reliable?

Owners rate it 4.5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

User feedback also points to a mix of confidence and caution: some owners describe the car as smooth and comfortable, while others mention concerns about durability. The model’s complexity can work against it over time, so long-term ownership risk is something you should weigh carefully when shopping used.

What should I look for when buying a used 2014 BMW 5 Series?

At 58.1% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and confirm whether any prior damage was repaired properly. A pre-purchase inspection should get extra attention on mechanical condition, electronics, and signs of wear that could be expensive to address later. Focus on overall maintenance history and consistency in how the car has been cared for, since that matters more when you’re buying a premium sedan with added complexity.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2014 BMW 5 Series?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you know what you want.

• Deal availability: 32.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 799 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.88% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 58.1% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $10,570, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2014 BMW 5 Series's resale value?

The current average of $10,570 sits slightly below last year's $11,230.

That price movement suggests the model has already given up some value, which can be good for you as a buyer but less favorable if you plan to resell soon. If you buy at the right price and keep the car in strong condition, you may be able to limit future depreciation. Demand should remain supported by the model’s strong owner satisfaction and premium positioning.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2014 BMW 5 Series or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2014 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2014 if:

• 32.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 58.1% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.88% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2014 is a good fit if you want a lower-priced entry into the 5 Series and are willing to shop carefully for condition and history. If you’re especially price-sensitive, you may want to compare nearby years and focus on the cleanest, best-maintained example rather than the cheapest one.
