How much does the 2014 BMW 5 Series cost?

Prices have softened 5.01% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 813 listings available, which gives you a solid amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2014 BMW 5 Series a good car?

Yes — the 2014 BMW 5 Series earns a 4.5/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. You get a mix of smooth, comfortable ride quality, performance, and interior features, and the model’s appeal is especially strong if you want a midsize luxury sedan with a driver-focused feel and useful available tech. The market also shows 33.3% of listings as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2014 BMW 5 Series reliable?

Owners rate it 4.5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Driver feedback highlights a mix of dependable comfort and performance, but it also points to concerns around durability and reliability for some owners. For used buyers, that means long-term ownership risk is worth taking seriously, especially if you want to avoid surprise repair costs.

What should I look for when buying a used 2014 BMW 5 Series?

At 59.4% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should run a vehicle history report before you commit, then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection from a mechanic who knows luxury sedans. Focus closely on signs of prior body damage, uneven panel gaps, electrical quirks, and any evidence of neglected maintenance.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2014 BMW 5 Series?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop with some leverage if you stay patient and compare listings carefully.

• Deal availability: 33.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 813 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.01% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 59.4% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $10,603, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2014 BMW 5 Series's resale value?

The current average of $10,607 sits slightly below last year's $11,167.

That softer pricing suggests the model has already absorbed some depreciation, which can help limit how much value you lose if you buy at the right price. If you keep the car in strong condition and maintain it well, you may be better positioned when it comes time to sell. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2014 BMW 5 Series or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2014 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2014 if:

• 33.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 59.4% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.01% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: You should start with the 2014 if you want a well-equipped luxury sedan with a softer used-car price and enough inventory to shop carefully. If you’re especially price-sensitive, a nearby year may still be worth comparing, but the 2014 is the better first stop when you want a balance of value, features, and owner satisfaction.
