Why it stands out
The 2014 Acura TL stands out as a roomy, mature luxury sedan with a strong emphasis on comfort, equipment, and available performance. It was the bigger, more powerful sibling to the TSX, and Acura positioned it as a true competitor to established luxury sedans by giving it a choice of engines and a well-equipped cabin. Buyers could get a 2.4-liter four-cylinder paired with an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic, or a 3.5-liter V6 paired with a nine-speed automatic, with the V6 also available with SH-AWD. The TL’s base trim was unusually generous for the class, with features such as four-wheel steering, LED headlights and brake lights, a sunroof, keyless entry and ignition, dual-zone automatic climate control, leatherette upholstery, heated front seats with power adjustability, and a seven-speaker audio system.
The 2014 TL also offered a thoughtful mix of technology and driver assistance. Its infotainment setup used two displays, including an eight-inch screen mounted on top of the dash and a seven-inch center display, while the optional Technology Package added real leather seating surfaces, voice command capability, navigation, and an ELS 10-speaker premium audio system. For V6 models, the available Advance Package brought 18-inch alloy wheels, parking sensors front and rear, LED foglights, ventilated front seats, adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, and automatic braking for forward collision mitigation. At the same time, the TL was not without drawbacks: the nine-speed automatic drew complaints, and the car’s back seat and cargo space were both described as limited. Even so, the 2014 Acura TL remains appealing for shoppers who want a comfortable, well-equipped sedan with available all-wheel drive and a broad spread of features.

It’s a beautiful car and it drives like a dream. Best car I’ve owned yet. I will say that unless you’re getting the SH-AWD, just stick with the Accord. The tech is outdated and honestly a burden.

The car itself is comfortable and powerful. It is a 2014 so it isnt up to date with all the features of current year car but it still has a lot to offer. I did find the car a bit expensive but Im a fan of Acura cars so I didnt let the price tag get in the way of quality. The TL is Right in the Range of the BMW 5 series and Audi A6 and other luxury full size sedans.

How much does the 2014 Acura TL cost?
| Metric | Value |
|---|---|
| Current Average Price | $12,245 |
| Year-Round Low | $10,863.35 |
| Year-Round High | $12,800.44 |
| Average Price a Year Ago | $12,249 |
| Change vs. Last Year | −0.03% |
Prices have held steady compared to this time last year, signaling a stable and predictable market for this model year.
There are 105 listings available, which suggests a relatively limited pool of inventory for shoppers to compare.
If you find a listing below $10,863.35, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
Is the 2014 Acura TL a good car?
Yes — 5/5. The 2014 Acura TL is a roomy, mature luxury sedan that puts comfort, equipment, and available performance front and center. It gives you a choice of engines, a well-equipped cabin, and a broad feature set for the class, including available all-wheel drive and a strong mix of convenience and technology features. For you, that means it can make sense if you want a comfortable daily driver with a premium feel and plenty of equipment. 29.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.
Is the 2014 Acura TL reliable?
Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.
The 2014 Acura TL’s appeal is supported by its comfort-focused design and generous equipment, but you should still pay close attention to the condition of the transmission and the overall maintenance history when shopping used. For long-term ownership, the safest path is to prioritize well-documented examples that have been cared for consistently.
What should I look for when buying a used 2014 Acura TL?
At 52.4% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
You should start with a vehicle history report so you can separate clean examples from cars with prior damage. After that, put a pre-purchase inspection at the top of your list, especially if you’re considering a higher-mileage or lower-priced car. Focus on overall condition, signs of past repairs, and whether the car’s equipment and drivability match the seller’s description.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2014 Acura TL?
This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently but should move quickly when a strong listing appears.
- Deal availability: 29.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 105 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have held steady compared with last year.
- Clean inventory: 52.4% of listings are accident-free.
If you find a listing below $10,863.35, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
Is the 2014 Acura TL's resale value?
The current average of $12,245 sits slightly below last year's $12,249.
That small decline suggests the market has been stable rather than volatile, which can help future sellers because pricing is easier to predict. If you buy well and keep the car in strong condition, you’re less likely to face a sharp value drop in the near term. The limited year-over-year movement also points to a model that should remain relatively easy to price when it’s time to sell.
Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Should I buy a 2014 Acura TL or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2014 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2014 if:
- 29.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- At 52.4% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
- Price trend: Prices have held steady compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
The bottom line: If you want a comfortable, well-equipped luxury sedan and you find a clean example with solid history, the 2014 Acura TL is the primary year to target. If you’re especially price-sensitive, you can broaden your search to nearby years, but this one already offers stable pricing and enough deal availability to make careful shopping worthwhile.
