How much does the 2014 Acura MDX cost?

Prices have softened 6.60% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 613 listings available, which gives you a solid pool of options to compare.

Is the 2014 Acura MDX a good car?

Yes — the 2014 Acura MDX earns a 4.67/5 user rating and a 7.83/10 expert rating. The model scores 10/10 across Performance and Safety.

Owners consistently praise its luxury, comfort, performance, spacious interior, smooth ride, and fuel economy. That lines up with the MDX’s role as a redesigned luxury crossover that aims to feel polished and upscale while still keeping the athletic character many buyers want. If you want a premium three-row SUV that balances refinement with driving enjoyment, this year’s MDX fits that brief well.

There are 37.7% of listings priced as good or great deals, so you still have room to shop selectively.

Is the 2014 Acura MDX reliable?

Owners rate it 4.67/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Drivers describe it as reliable, dependable, and a vehicle they can count on, with praise centered on its comfort, performance, and overall ownership satisfaction. The expert review also emphasizes that the MDX is finely tuned and expertly calibrated, which supports the impression of a well-sorted SUV. Acura’s fuel-saving Variable Cylinder Management and the model’s strong highway efficiency also point to a powertrain designed for long-term use.

For used buyers, the main ownership risk is that luxury features and advanced systems can add complexity, so you should pay close attention to how well the vehicle has been maintained and whether its electronics and driver-assistance features work properly.

What should I look for when buying a used 2014 Acura MDX?

At 58.6% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and confirm whether any prior damage was repaired properly. A pre-purchase inspection should focus on the condition of the drivetrain, suspension, brakes, and electronics, since this model can be equipped with a wide range of convenience and safety technology. You should also pay close attention to interior wear, because owner feedback mentions seat comfort concerns and some decline in material quality compared with earlier models.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base version is relatively light on technology beyond Bluetooth connectivity and music streaming, hands-free text messaging, a USB port, a reversing camera, and Jewel Eye LED headlights. The Technology Package adds keyless access, navigation, premium audio, GPS-linked climate control, and several driver-assistance features, while the Technology and Entertainment Package adds rear-seat DVD entertainment and rear-seat comfort upgrades. The Advance and Entertainment Package adds the most equipment, including premium perforated leather seats, ventilated front seats, parking sensors, adaptive cruise control, lane keeping assist, and collision mitigation braking.
• Powertrain: The MDX uses a 3.5-liter V6 with 290 hp and 267 lb-ft of torque, plus a 6-speed automatic. Variable Cylinder Management helps conserve fuel by running on fewer cylinders when cruising, and SH-AWD is available if you want the added torque-vectoring effect.
• Safety package: The Technology Package includes Forward Collision Warning, Lane Departure Warning, and Blind Spot Information. The Advance and Entertainment Package adds Adaptive Cruise Control with Low Speed Follow, Lane Keeping Assist, and Collision Mitigation Braking. Base trims miss much of that driver-assistance content.
• Infotainment: Every MDX gets twin display screens, and the upper trim packages add navigation, AcuraLink real-time traffic, premium audio, and a rear-seat entertainment system with a 9-inch screen. The Advance and Entertainment Package upgrades to a 16.2-inch widescreen display.
• Fuel efficiency: The fully loaded test vehicle was rated at 18 mpg city and 27 mpg highway, for a combined 21 mpg.

Which 2014 Acura MDX trim should I buy?

The 2014 Acura MDX is offered in 4 trim levels: base, Technology Package, Technology and Entertainment Package, and Advance and Entertainment Package.

Here's the short version:

• base: This is the right pick if you want the lowest entry price and can live without the richer convenience and safety content. It still gives you the core MDX experience, but it is the most stripped-down version in terms of technology.
• Technology Package: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds navigation, premium audio, keyless access, and important driver-assistance features without jumping all the way to the top package.
• Technology and Entertainment Package: Choose this if you want the Technology Package equipment plus rear-seat entertainment and extra family-friendly features for passengers in the second row.
• Advance and Entertainment Package: This is the most fully equipped version, adding ventilated front seats, parking sensors, adaptive cruise control, lane keeping assist, and collision mitigation braking for buyers who want the most comfort and safety tech.

The safety-package content is strongest in the upper trims, especially the Advance and Entertainment Package.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2014 Acura MDX?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, with enough inventory to shop carefully and enough deal activity to find value if you compare listings closely.

• Deal availability: 37.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 613 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.60% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 58.6% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $12,039, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2014 Acura MDX's resale value?

The current average of $12,144 sits slightly below last year's $13,003.

That softer pricing suggests the model has already absorbed some depreciation, which can help future resale stability if you buy at the right number. For you, that means the biggest resale advantage comes from choosing a clean, well-kept example with strong service history and desirable equipment. A lower purchase price today can also reduce the amount of value you stand to lose later if the market stays steady.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.67/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2014 Acura MDX safe?

The 2014 Acura MDX gets Good ratings from IIHS in both the moderate overlap frontal-impact test and the side-impact test, and its front crash prevention rating is Advanced. It earns a 10/10 safety score from our experts.

The Technology Package includes Forward Collision Warning, Lane Departure Warning, and Blind Spot Information, while the Advance and Entertainment Package adds Adaptive Cruise Control with Low Speed Follow, Lane Keeping Assist, and Collision Mitigation Braking. Base trims miss much of that advanced driver-assistance content.

One caveat is that the Lane Departure Warning system can be overly sensitive, so you should test it during your drive and make sure it behaves the way you expect.

Should I buy a 2014 Acura MDX or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2014 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2014 if:

• 37.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 58.6% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.60% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.67/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The redesigned 2014 MDX is presented as a better SUV in almost every respect, with a more refined cabin and stronger overall polish.

The bottom line: If you want the redesigned MDX with strong owner satisfaction, solid performance, and a more modern feel, the 2014 is a compelling choice. If you are especially price-sensitive, you may want to compare it carefully with nearby model years and focus on the cleanest, best-maintained example you can find.
