This car has everything I want in a car. It is very comfortable, it has a good amount of room (even with a 6'3" driver), it has power when you want it and gas economy to boot. I can get 37 mpg on the highway, around 25 in town, but still have fun doing it. Honestly, I couldn't be happier with this car, I've had it for a year and like it more every day. Winter driving is a snap, I do have winter tires for it, but I used the all-season tires when it snowed at the end of last year and it was still amazing. You don't have to worry much in the snow, it has AWD and good traction control. Occasionally I turn down the traction control just to have a little fun, but you have to hold the button for 10 seconds or so in order to get it to turn fully off. The only thing I can say as a con is that in traffic (~10 mph) the transmission is a little jerky. This is probably due to the 8 speed automatic transmission since it shifts quite a bit a low speeds, but it also gives you great acceleration and gas mileage. The amount of gears makes the sport shift kind of annoying in town since you have to slap it up and down a lot, but I don't use that feature. If you want it to perform sportier, just put it in sport mode. As far as maintenance goes, I haven't paid for any yet. It came with Audi Care, which pays for all maintenance up to 50k miles with the option of extending it to 75k (which I plan on doing). What I do know about it is that scheduled maintenance starts at 5k miles and every 10k miles after that (including oil changes) so you aren't going be paying for it often, but it will be more expensive when you do since it is a foreign car. I didn't mis-speak, oil changes are every 10k miles as recommended by the manufacturer. I also plan on getting exhaust and an APR tune done to give it more power, I also heard it helps the low speed jerkiness. It is supposed to add ~65 more HP and ~60 ft-lb torque too, so I can satisfy the little race car driver in me. In the USA you end up spending years in your car over your lifetime, you might as well be happy in it.

Brilliant car! Pleasing to the eye. However the fear of mechanical failure always lingers in the back of your mind.

The A4 is a great entry level family car with plenty of potential for the enthusiasts. Great on gas even heavily modified. Perfect for family and fun. Without going V6 or V8. Great standard features from factory. AWD system is quite literally second to none.
