(2 reviews)I previously owned a MINI Cooper S JCW, but soon realized that it is not practical for fitting more than 2 people at a time. I was young; I had no problem with it. However, the older I got I realized I needed more room and the Countryman became the answer. It drives almost as well as the original MINI, but the added utility more than makes up for any minor differences in the driving style. I highly recommend the Countryman for anyone who wants to have fun whilst driving, yet still be able to haul around a few friends/family.
Performance: So much power, so much speed and such a handling from a jacked up hatchback-crossover. It sticks to the ground like glue and when you accelerate it's like the millenary falcon, you wouldn't guess for the looks, and your face is pure terrified surprise, a delight to overtake other cars. Build quality: Nearly indestructible, but a bit harsh, practicality wasn't in the mind of the guy who designed the interior, the radio controls are too low, the electric windows controls are just wrong, there are no side door bins and the plastics are hard. Comes with i-pod connectivity though, and it's a good one. PS: Mini: you have a big screen in a expensive car, make it a touchscreen, it will make the controls easier. Appearance: A bit odd, but it grows on you. Cost of Ownership: Really expensive car, so expect a proportional maintenance, the car is bulletproof though, so it won't break or develop any issues. Gas mileage is about average, on the frugal side, so that's good. The rearview detector is really good and really helpful, combined with an excellent all-round visibility, relatively small body and nimbleness of the steering, its very easy to park. Noisy on the motorway, lots of windscreen noise and tire roar. So surprisingly spacious, you wonder if it's magic, low seats for a taller car. Fun Factor: that's the key word, fun, looooots and looots of fun. And terror. Coupled with a little bite more of fun (because it's indestructible and after diriving like a maniac, and getting the four wheel in the air in a jump, you're fine, and so is the car, keeps on going like nothing happened)
