Overview
The Dodge Charger R/T is the least expensive means of getting into a V-8 powered example of Dodge’s popular sedan. The R/T is powered by a 5.7-liter V-8 good for 370 horsepower. Unlike the Challenger, the Charger is only available with the Torqueflite 8HP70 eight-speed automatic transmission. And unlike the Charger SXT, the R/T is only available in rear-wheel drive. The R/T has the same 2.62:1 axle ratio as the Hellcat, which provides more relaxed highway performance that some of the numerically higher ratios in the SXT and GT. The R/T trim level also provides access to performance option groups that aren’t available on the SXT and GT trim levels.
