Overview
The Lexus IS emerged in the late 1990s here in the United States as a small executive car with sporty leanings. Early models embraced that sporty side, but Lexus developed softer versions to attract a wider spectrum of buyers. The IS 250 emerged in the car’s second generation with a smaller V6 engine, less power, and a smaller price tag. Lexus continued selling the car through 2015 until its ultimate demise in 2016. Though the IS is still on sale today, the model line is much smaller than earlier offerings. The car’s 2.5-liter V6 provided effortless, smooth acceleration, but with just 204 horsepower, it wasn’t the rowdy Japanese muscle sedan some had hoped for.

The base Lexus IS 250 had a starting price of around $37,500 for its last year on the market in 2015. Buyers could upgrade to the AWD variant for about $1,500 more. This car handles very well. Its luxurious, navigation and back up camera, black inside and black outside, ice cold AC, heated and cooled seats, can barely feel bumps in the road, great sound system, looks very stylish, comfortable to ride in.

Great Car all around excellent and no complaints from me. Has given me absolutely no problems. The IS 250 is a lot of fun to drive, but I can't help feeling that it should have a manual transmission with its V-6 engine. The automatic with paddle shifters almost makes me forget that I wish the IS 250 had a little more power. I know it's not very, um, fuel-efficient of me, but I must floor the IS 250 everywhere I go to get that goofy, speed-induced grin. Thankfully, this car gets an EPA-estimated 20/26 mpg city/highway, so I can feel less guilty when I floor it. The IS 250 also has responsive brakes and steering. As a result, the IS 250 made me happiest when it was just me and her, with no complaints of car sickness from the backseat.
