You won't see many visible changes to the 2009 Hummer H2 SUT, but a big change has taken place under the hood. This pickup-like SUV receives an optional FlexFuel engine for 2009 that runs on E85, a blend of 85 percent ethanol and 15 percent gasoline. The H2 SUT joins 14 other FlexFuel vehicles in GM's lineup for 2009. The '09 H2 SUT also runs on ordinary gasoline, so drivers have a couple of options when fueling up their vehicles.

The Hummer H2 SUT retains its functional and versatile pickup-truck-style design for 2009. In the normal configuration, it offers two rows of seating and a 3-foot-long open cargo bed behind the rear bulkhead, or Midgate, as Hummer calls it. But with the rear window lowered into the Midgate and the Midgate and rear seat folded forward, the cargo bed extends to 6 feet.

Drivers can choose from three trims. The Base H2 SUT comes equipped with leather-appointed seats, eight-way power-adjustable front seats, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, a power sunroof, power-folding heated exterior mirrors, and a Bose AM/FM audio system with a six-disc in-dash CD changer.

Full-time four-wheel drive helps the big SUV hold tight to slippery roads. Traction control, a StabiliTrak stability enhancement system, and variable-ratio steering also improve stability, traction, and handling.

The Adventure trim adds a self-leveling air suspension system and a brush grille guard, as well as an optional touch-screen DVD navigation system (not available on the Base trim).

At the high end, the Luxury trim adds a full third-row seat for two passengers, a Bose Cabin Surround Sound audio system, a rear-seat overhead DVD entertainment system, and 17-inch polished aluminum wheels, as well as a Chrome Appearance Package with chrome hood handles, hood latches, and bright door-sill plates.

A 393-horsepower, 6.2-liter Vortec V8 engine, which comes standard, powers all three H2 SUT trims. The engine links to a six-speed Hydra-Matic automatic transmission.
