Fantastic, reliable truck. Ive driven mine for just over two years now, and at 226,000 miles, it still runs perfect. No check engine lights, and no signs of the transmission going out anytime soon. At 15 years old, everything still works, no water or fluid leaks, and no headliner or plastics are falling apart. While its not as luxurious as the Nissans, or any of the American trucks, Toyota has put their money into making these trucks reliable- all around. The Titans/Armadas are worth considering as well. They have a decent track record mechanically, and I personally like them for their interior comfort, and a nice sounding (stock) exhaust. My family bought a 2010 Armada, and a salvaged 2012 Tundra 4x4 over 3 years ago. Neither have had any problems drivability- wise. Both went from to TN to FL, very comfortably, never missing a beat. Where you spend money on gas, I think you make up in repair costs with these trucks, or the lack, thereof. However, If you dont need the bigger engines and space, the Tacomas and Frontiers are excellent choices as well.

One of the best all around pick up truck you can own. The new bulky look made this truck compete with American made pick up truck without lacking power and torque. Mainly it's made by the company known for its reliability.

Reviewed a 2008 Toyota Base CrewMax 5.7L 4WD on Mar 19, 2008
My personal favorite trim option is the Crew max. Basically because there is sooo much room back there for me to stretch out and recline the seat if I want to. The bed may be limited in space, but for those things that are long, I figure that is what racks are for. This is no a 1/2 ton truck. With a regular cab you can have a 1 ton payload capacity, if you purchase the Crew Max option you have a 3/4 ton capacity. This truck handles nice on and off road, it has a good field of vision. The finish inside is nice. The center console is design for storing stuff. Those that like the bench seat design for the open leg feel will be disappointed.
