Overview
The 2008 Saturn VUE features a fresh design, borrowed from GM's European counterpart, Opel, as well as a wide range of engine choices and trim packages. The compact VUE SUV is also available in both front-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive versions.
The base VUE is a front-wheel-drive vehicle with an inline 2.4-liter, four-cylinder engine that produces 164 horsepower, an increase of 20 horsepower over the previous year's four-cylinder engine. The four-cylinder is dropped into the entry-level XE trim package.
The XE trim package also is available in an all-wheel-drive model with a 3.5-liter, 222-horsepower V6 engine.
Stepping up a notch, the XR trim package is available as either a front-wheel-drive or all-wheel drive model, with a 3.6-liter, 245-horsepower V6 engine and a six-speed electronically controlled automatic transmission.
At the top of the line is the Red Line trim package, in front-wheel or all-wheel-drive, with a sportier design package and a 3.6-liter, 245-horsepower V6 engine.
Standard features throughout the Saturn VUE lineup include four-wheel anti-lock brakes, dual-stage front airbags, and a six-speaker AM/FM stereo system with a CD player and an MP3 input jack.
Other features include rack-and-pinion steering, traction control, a keyless entry system, cruise control, and daytime running lights.

Great overall SUV but the 4 Cly is just not strong enough when mated to the 4 speed automatic transmission. Excellent braking and steering. No repairs in the first 2 years. Quiet and comfortable ride, great handling, decent fuel milage, comfortable seating, great visibility.

We bought this vehicle with 38,000 miles. Ride is somewhat buoyant and acceleration with the 2.4 Ecotec is just adequate. Fuel mileage is good: 22 around town, 26 highway. Noise inside the cabin can be intrusive at higher speeds and GM must have realized that when they installed a radio with the capability of getting louder as you drive faster! Fit and finish appears good and of substantial quality (for plastic anyway, leather seats feature a very heavy grade of leather). Towing capacity isn't much with the 4 cylinder (1500 lbs) but it handles my 5x10 lawn trailer with ease.

I bought my Saturn Vue Red Line with about 19,000 on it. So far it's been great. Handles very nicely, love the interior and storage capicity is more than I hoped for. Speaking of storage, make sure you ask for a trunk liner for the back. It's just a nice practical piece that's standard with these cars but can save some wear and tear to the interior. Gas mileage (if my calc is right), is slightly lower than advertised and for some reason the dashboard rattles slightly on occasion. A little annoying, but not a deal breaker. Overall, a solid car for the price. We really enjoy it

For a SUV this truck is built solid. Its reliable. You put your foot down and it goes! You take it off road and it goes! You fill the tank and the gas goes! This vechile is amazing but the only complaint I have about it, is that with the 6cyl it uses gas far faster then I am used to. Its a trade off though, you want the power you have to pay for it some how
