About 2008 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
Overview

The sedans and wagons that make up the 2008 Mercedes-Benz E-Class continue to be the automaker's most popular vehicles overall, and with good reason. The E-Class vehicles consistently receive high marks for performance, exterior styling, interior features, and safety, as well as for their responsive handling, roominess, and comfort.
In addition, the E-Class vehicles offer drivers a wide range of choices in power, features, and sportiness. The 2008 E320 BLUETEC Sedan, for instance, comes equipped with a 210-horsepower, 3.0-liter clean diesel engine, which was designed to provide fuel-efficient operation while reducing soot and pollutants. Taking a step up in power, the E350 and the E550 offer V6 and V8 gas-powered engines, respectively, as well as optional 4MATIC all-wheel drive.
At the upper end of the E-Class sedans, the 2008 E63 AMG sedan comes equipped with a stunning 507-horsepower V8 engine, as well as styling by AMG, Mercedes' in-house sport tuner. Other features include an AMG-calibrated Airmatic suspension, AMG-enhanced Sensotronic brakes, and a seven-speed automatic transmission with AMG SpeedShift and fingertip shift paddles.
The 2008 E-Class lineup also includes two wagons. The E350 4MATIC Wagon offers all-wheel drive, third-row seating, leather upholstery, and a 268-horsepower V6 engine, while the E63 AMG Wagon comes equipped with an AMG-built 507-horsepower V8 engine, Burl Walnut wood interior trim, an AMG-calibrated Airmatic Semi-Active Air Suspension system, and seating for seven passengers.
Overall, the E-Class cars epitomize what most drivers have come to expect from the German automaker: well-designed, finely tuned, and well-equipped cars, with innovative, luxury-oriented features. Some reviewers even consider the E-Class sedans and wagons among the best cars available in their class, with good value for drivers.
