I have had my '08 2500HD Extended Cab (6.0L gas V8, 4x4) for almost two years now, and have driven it nearly 27K miles. This is the first truck I've owned that I have no desire to get rid of. The 2500HD provides a great combination of performance, comfort, capability, and quality, all for a price that is less than its major competitors. The best features of the 2500HD are: --Power. Even with the gas V8, you are pressed back in the seat when you step on it. This power is valuable when towing. I tow a 5,000 lb. trailer from time to time, which is a breeze for this truck to handle. --Comfort. The seats, driving position, and ride are excellent for long rides. You sit high up, and the low dashboard provides a great view out. All interior controls and displays are attractive and easy to use. The front seats have multiple adjustments and the cloth fabric is soft with support in the right areas. And the stock sound system pumps out the music with great sound quality. --Value. The 2500HD I bought was almost $10,000 cheaper than a Ford Super Duty with similar options. And to top it off, gas mileage even with the gas V8 has been pretty amazing for a 3/4 ton truck. With the cruise control set at 72 mph, I average 17 mpg on the interstate. On rural roads with speeds around 55-60, I even hit 18 mpg once. On the flip side, around town, in stop and go traffic, economy drops significantly to around 11-12.
