5.3L V8 has plenty of power. Acceleration is acceptable for a full-size pickup. Braking is particularly good. Handling is exceptional considering the width and length of the vehicle. The vehicle itself is a quality vehicle. No issues related to build quality. Appearance is, in the only words I can think of, manly. It looks like a pickup a man would drive. Gas mileage is not the best, but considering that it has a 5.3L V8, you should not expect great gas mileage. Currently getting 14.8 MPG. With a 26 gallon (U.S.) fuel tank, you can still get to where you need to go, although the price to fill the pickup can be high. The Active Fuel Management feature, however, is great (switches between 4 and 8 cylinders depending on driving conditions). It's a fun vehicle. Loaded on the inside. I don't have a navigation system primarily because I don't need one. Sound system is great. Although it's a pickup, it doesn't drive like one. My pickup is Stealth Gray in color, and I can tell you that a number of people have asked me where I purchased my pickup simply because of how good my pickup looks. Enough said.

I love this truck, it runs hard and rides like a champ

The performance is average for a half ton truck. It is powerful enough to pull 2 trailers at a time for work, and I have no problems passing on the highway. I also like the small turning radius. Build quality is good and I have not had any problems but I sense some rattling coming on in the near future due to the tremendous ammount of plastic used inside. Appearance on the outside is bold, clean cut, and in my opinion, visually appealing, but I do believe whoever decided to start using that ugly dulled out matte black plastic on vehicles instead of chrome should be shot in the head! I would love to find some chrome mirror caps and chrome handles! Interior design is nice, and everything is well placed. It came with grey cloth seats but I ordered some wipe clean seat covers from GM since I often get into it with filthy clothes. I just haven't had time to install the rear seat cover yet. My biggest complaint is the interior has far too much plastic! It is truly overwhelming! I would like to find a wood or stainless steel dash kit in the future to add color and take attention away from the plastic! I also find it is amazing on gas! I guess I have the Flex Fuel feature to thank for that! Finally, I do find it fun to drive when I am not hauling and I can actually open it up on the highways. I would most definetley recommend this truck to people! I have not had any problems and I am pretty comfortable saying there won't be for a while judging by my past experiences with GM trucks. Thank you for reading my review. Hope you enjoyed it.

this is a well built truck with near car quaility ride, great performance, braking and handling. the only thing I'm not fond of is the built in phone (the voice recognitiion is not good, for 2009 they went with bluetooth which I'd prefer) the back up sensor is a must for all trucks and SUV's mine has the back up sensor for 09 you can get a back up camera.
