I love the truck, perfect for work, wish I would have gotten the v8 over the 4.3 v6. The gas mileage is not as good as I would expect for a 6 cylinder. Some small issues plagued the truck but was able to finally get them all fixed prior to the warranty going out.

I have a 2008 chevy wt with the ls package. Overall I like the look of the truck, the interior is a little cramped in the back. The old 4.3 l v6 is terrible on gas and performance, I wich I would have gotten the v8. I have also had to have it into the dealership 3 times for brake problems. Next truck, will be the v8 4x4 or a new tundra. The new tundra is nice.

Do yourself a favor and get the 4.8 V8. The 4.3 is archaic and uncompetitive . However it did return 18 mpg city and 22 highway. Very solid truck. I use it to haul random household items and tow antique cars.

I bought this truck because compared to Ford and Dodge, it was the cheapest and most practical choice when comparing 4 wheel drive and year. I instantly regretted going with the V6. I thought I would save some money on gas given I don't do any towing. Even without towing, the absence of power in this 4 wheel drive truck is evident. Gives you very little power high end on the highway. You always feel like your stressing the V6 just to get up to and maintain a speed like 80 mph. Work truck trim is bare bone but it saves you money, higher trim levels push the price up considerably. Roll down windows and no power seats not a big deal. 4 wheel drive was GREAT in the snow, even with the V6. Very impressed. Still a sharp looking truck with simple things like chrome wheel covers and some tint.

the v6 feels more like a smaller v8 and i get about 17 to 20 mpg depending on how i drive. For a half ton you'd be surprised, I've had 2400 lbs in it and pulled a trailer weighing 4700lbs.
