Overview

Essentially a carryover from the 2006 Volkswagen Rabbit, which was introduced mid-year, the 2007 version adds a few new features, including MP3 capability for the stereo system and an optional tire pressure monitor. Other than that, standard features include six-way adjustable seats with side bolsters, dual front and side-impact airbags, remote power door locks, power mirrors, power windows with pinch protection and key activation, blinkers with a lane change feature (flashes three times with a single tap), two power ports, four-wheel anti-lock disk brakes, cruise control, and traction control.
The Rabbit is available in both two-door and four-door trim packages. The four-door hatchback adds a number of additional features, including a 10-speaker CD stereo system with a "smart" feature, so it automatically adjusts its volume up or down, depending on how fast you're going, to compensate for road noise. The four-door also gets a six-disc CD changer, rear passenger side airbags, heated seats in the front, and upgraded cloth upholstery.
The 2007 Rabbit is powered by a 2.5-liter 5-cylinder engine that pumps out a respectable 150 hp. The engine conforms to stringent zero-emissions guidelines and gets up to 30 mpg on the highway, according to VW. A five-speed manual transmission is standard, while a six-speed automatic with Tiptronic is available as an option.
Drivers have been quick to recognize the Rabbit's affordability and its German-made quality. They also have responded positively to the smoothness of its ride, its redesigned interior and exterior, and its economical gas mileage.

This car is a very all-rounder, good ride, it handles well, build quality is great, and theres tons of space even for a 2 door hatch. enough room to carry a dresser in the back. For a car this small you would expect it to feel light and nimble, and it is. The steering is weighted perfectly for a car this size, and you feel very confident when you fancy driving as if your pants are on fire. Reaching into the back from the front seat is a little tight, but theres miles of room in front of you, so it makes up for it. The seats hold you in on tight turns, and it never gives you any sense that it is anything less that great to drive in any weather conditions.

After almost 100,000 miles I still don't have almost any complaints regarding this car. Engine, brakes and steering are great. I have done all the regular maintenance schedules and repairs at VW dealerships and they were very resonably priced, honest and never tried to upsell anything or charge for unecesarry repairs. Unbelievably, the only things I've had to change during the past 100,000 miles were tires, a couple of light bulbs and the battery. Everything still feels as tight as when I bought it. I suspect I will never have a better and more reliable car after this one.

This car is pretty solidly built. It has the 2.5L inline five, also used by the Jetta. The engine produces 150hp and 170 ft.-lbs. of torque. It is decently quick with a 0-60 time of 7.9. With the help of a Cold Air Intake the power can be bumped up to around 160hp. The CAI also inproves the fuel efficiency and engine noise. Handles great.

This car has been fantastic since we purchased it in 2012. We are the second owners and have never needed any maintenance on the car in this time. The car has more get-up than most people think, and is the smoothest clutch i've ever driven. All around a great car and has held its value incredibly well.
