Any way you dress it up, it's still a station wagon, but boy, does Audi certainly dress up its 2007 Audi S4 Avant. More stylish, more luxurious, and definitely more sporty than your typical wagon, the 2007 S4 Avant boasts the superb quattro all-wheel drive technology for safe, confident handling. It also takes advantage of a hefty 4.2-liter DOHC V8 that hits 340-hp. This means it stands alone in its segment in terms of power and performance.
Because it is based on an A4 platform, the S4 isn't necessarily a roomy wagon in terms of passenger comfort, particularly for rear legroom. Split-folding seats do expand the cargo space to 61 cubic feet, and there is an armrest that doubles as a trunk pass-through. There is only one trim, and it comes fully loaded with power features, including power front seats, leather seats, and bolter-supportive sport front seats. A trip computer, 6-CD player, sunroof and roof rails are also standard. Leather and faux wood interior trim help convey a feeling of luxury and style throughout.
Of course, Audi ranks high for safety, and the 2007 S4 Avant comes with a fully array of airbags, though side bags for the back row are optional. ABS brakes, traction control, and stability control combine with the quattro engineering to ensure a smooth, trouble-free ride. Drivers mention the luxurious interior, great V8 power, and quiet, smooth ride as highlights of the 2007 S4 Avant. Negatives include the limited rear legroom.

(4 reviews)This is my fourth Audi - I've had the allroad (2003, A6 base), A4, S4 Cabriolet and now the S4 Avant. I liked the S4 Cab so much that I wanted the Avant on the same platform. I was looking for a wagon for more storage for errands but really liked having a fun car. This car is almost perfect - it does use a lot of expensive gas and limited back seat leg room. Otherwise, it's fantastic ... and fits into a small, downtown garage. Every time I drive it, I appreciate something about the car. It feels very safe, is sporty and practical, and is great for an outdoor lifestyle. I considered other crossovers but I couldn't imagine putting my bike onto a roof rack that tall or hanging them off the back of the car which sounds good but isn't great. The car is effortless to drive - it speeds up with amazing power when you need it, breaks smoothly, turns tightly (small turn radius). I did buy the used 2007 since it's no longer for sale in the US after considering the Q5, the A4 Avant, and the new 2013 A4 allroad.
This car is perfect. No car out there compares to this Beast
Awesome. My dream come true.
V8 not fast enough... No point for this car really.. RS4 thats all you need...
