The 4.0 liter VQ engine, used in the Xterra, is just as quick as the VQ used in the Z cars, plus it has a longer throw for more low-end torque. You can't beat this engine. Anyone who drives one will instantly fall in love with the performance.

I bought my X at 17 k miles last November. I bought it for the 4WD and camping gear space - which it has lived up to. Overall - I love the power, style and performance. I knew going in the 4 liter V-6 with a HELL of alot of power and FUN would cost at the pump- and it DOES! There is a squeak that has come back twice now which the dealer says is the hood latch. I have read it is a fuel pump problem unresolved. Also - the valve covers have been replaced. Though under warranty - still replaced at less than 20K???????? Also - the paint SUCKS! VERY weak as is the plastic interior. I owned a Camry for 13 years before this and had better luck. Sorry - you get what you pay for!
