Used 2006 Lincoln Town Car for Sale near Boston, MA
The definition of the classic American luxury sedan preaches bigger is better, rear-wheel drive, plush leather seats for six full-sized adults, and a V8 engine. The Lincoln Town Car remains the most traditional form of that definition still found in new car showrooms.
At 215.4 inches in overall length on a 117.7-inch wheelbase and 221.4/123.7 inches (length and wheelbase) for the extended-length L trim sedans, we are speaking - big. With all that room to play with it's easy to seat six adults in the cabin, swath them in leather, panel them in burl walnut, and top it all off with an analog clock and leather steering wheel. The interior exudes comfort and serenity. Working in conjunction with the suspension - classic American land barge tuned to a mannerly sedan handling level - the occupants travel in a tranquil cocoon. Some slight engine noise and perhaps some wind whoosh over 60 mph might disturb the ambiance, but only as long as it takes to turn on the sound system. The cavernous trunk holds everything, but needs some good back muscles to get things out due to a deep center well.
A V8 engine with 239-hp, hooked to a four-speed automatic transmission dates the Town Car as an American classic highway cruiser. But that's what the Lincoln Town Car was built for and that's why so many limousine and livery services use them to haul people and their luggage back and forth to airports. Private owners buy them for their safety (great crash ratings), smooth ride, luxury comfort, and nostalgic prestige.
All that aside, reviewers understand that the Town Car represents a nostalgic dinosaur when handling and performance enter the equation. V6s and five, six, even seven-speed automatic transmissions are showing up in the competition. Lincoln knows that nostalgia doesn't sell as well as technology.

(34 reviews)So far we're happy with it. We also have an '06 Grand Marquis LS. It's nice, but the Town Car is more smooth, comfy and roomy. Although the styling has been around for a long time, we think it's uncluttered and classy. If it suits you, get a well-maintained, nice used 2000's Town Car while you can for 40% or less of the original sticker price. Cool!
I absolutley love this car. In four years I have only put 13,000 miles on it. I love the plush leather seats, the performance, it handles like a dream, It can maneuver in and out of tight places very well for such a large car, the ride is so smooth with the air ride suspension and the RWD handling. I was also suprised at how well it handles snow when equipped with snow tires and a little weight I was able to easily drive in blizzard conditions with several inches of snow on the road and 18" in my drive way. I average about 21 mpg in town and on highway trips about 26 mpg. The only real issue I have had is the lock on the left rear door sticks and will not unlock, It has been addressed with the Lincoln extended warranty.
Extremely comfortable and smooth riding vehicle. Extremely safe if ever involved in an accident. My 2003 Lincoln town car gave up its existence to save mine. Best American luxury vehicle ever
With minimal care the car will run forever or it seems like it. Used extensively in the limo industry, when we are done with them, then the taxi companies start using them. The car is big and comfortable with plenty of cargo room in the trunk. Easily will hold two adult bodies, ha, ha.
Great style and quality. Superb ride and fuel efficiency. Sad that Ford stopped producing this car. There is still a substantial market for V-8 powered rear wheel drive cars.
