Overview
The 2006 Dodge Sprinter is the last model year of its generation; a 2007 redesign awaits this full-size commercial van. This incarnation, launched in Europe and elsewhere in 1995 as the Mercedes Sprinter, has been sold here in the U.S. as the Dodge Sprinter only since 2003, so we haven't gotten sick of it yet.
The '06 Dodge Sprinter is a solid, workhorse van with plenty of room even in the basic model. Extended-wheelbase and High Roof versions offer even more passenger space and cargo capacity. This made the '06 Sprinter popular as a commercial shuttle van, as well as a good base for wheelchair users' aftermarket modifications.
For its size, the 2006 Sprinter is a little underpowered by American standards. Its base engine is a 2.7-liter turbodiesel five-cylinder plant, rated at 154 hp and 243 lb.-ft. of torque.
Some drivers and reviewers complain about the '06 Sprinter's sticker price, but that price does include Mercedes engineering.

The price is high for the year and condition. Granted the vehicle is in low mileage and it is a great year for a sprinter. It is still high price for the vehicle.

Best RV you can get if you really want to travel. Small enough to be economical and agile, large enough to be comfortable for two normal size people.

One of our great CarGurus readers writes: If you have had one of the dreaded plastic turbo Resonator failures that left you stranded, There is a solution: a metal resonator eliminator that replaces the plastic part with a billet aluminum part and lasts the life of the vehicle. We love our sprinter van RV and replacing the plastic turbo resonator with the metal resonator eliminator was easy. Well worth the time. took me 18 minutes to install it.

The parts for this thing are expensive, getting any helpful information about it is near impossible, be it from a dealer or Dodge itself, and for the extra money the overall totall weight of the cargo you can carry is less than a Ford E350. Sure it's taller but it can't haul as much as a vehicle that is 8000-10,000 dollars cheaper.
