Overview
The main changes for the Dodge Ram Pickup 3500 in 2005 revolve around a stronger engine and available power sunroof and Sirius Radio in the Quad Cabs. Ram fans can choose from a 5.7 L V8 or a 5.9 L I6 powertrain. 18 trims ensure that you'll find the right configuration to fit your needs.
The '05 Dodge Ram 3500 comes in 2 door, 3 seat and 4 door, 6 seat configurations. As the strongest of the Rams, max towing capacity approaches an impressive 16000 lbs. on all trims. Finally, drivers will have their pick of available 4 and 5 speed automatic transmission or 6 speed manual.
Overall, the 2005 Dodge Ram Pickup 3500 gets props for its power, towing capacity, good safety features, and relatively cushy interior. On the other hand, the critics feel that this powerful pickup could use a couple more seating configurations to match up better with the competition. Despite the relative lack of variety, the '05 Dodge Ram 3500 does its job as a rugged domestic pickup and does it well.

Excellent acceleration, very good braking, handles great and it will pull anything. Looks great. I get 18mpg. The only repairs, had turbo replaced under warranty. Apparently you can't pull a travel trailer at 100mph for several hours at a time, who knew. Its fun to race little Toyotas and Hondas and watch their surpised looks from the rearview mirror.

Overall this truck is great. I have since driven other trucks and the Dodge by far has the most power and towing capacity than the others. I would certainly own another. Once you drive one, you'll be sold on Dodge.
