Used 2004 Saturn L300 for Sale near Texas
Saturn has taken the L-Series and put it under one name for 2004: the Saturn L300. The main changes from the L-Series involve engine power and options. The L300 comes in 6 trims: the L300 1 Sedan and Wagon, L300 2 Sedan and Wagon, and L300 3 Sedan and Wagon. The L300 1 trims use a 2.2 L, 140 hp I4 engine while the 2's and 3's use a 3.0 L, 182 hp V6 engine. Saturn has eliminated 5 speed manual transmission and instituted 4 speed automatic in all trims.
The I4 trims will get you 24 mpg in the city, 33 on the highway while the V6 trims get you 20 mpg in the city, 29 mpg on the highway. Cargo space remains the same as the L-Series, with the wagons giving you 33.5 cubic feet and the sedans giving you 17.5 cubic feet. Standard safety features include ABS brakes and traction control on all trims. Saturn has added a twist to the L300 3's by giving you a choice among a dvd system, power sunroof, or a one year subscription to OnStar. Other standard features include power windows, cd player, and power door locks.
Outside semantics and a slight increase in engine power, not very much separates the L300 from the L-Series. Drivers like the relatively smooth handling and decent gas mileage. However, wagon owners would also like to see better materials for the interior and better options. Sedan owners consistently mention road and engine noise. Overall, the 2004 Saturn L300 has simply carried its midsize predecessor's torch under a different name.

(8 reviews)One thing i think I like is that although my parents have had it since 04, and when I turn 16 it will still work. I cant drive legally yet although i know how. It doesnt need repairs, it has a V6 engine that can top 130 stock, and it has a decent gas mileage. Styling is good though ill be modifying it once i get the keys.
Performance as been better than expected. It has a 3 litre V6 (basically a SAAB unit), and offers good acceleration and fuel economy. Handling is somewhat European as its its based on Opel Vectra underpinings. Disc brakes front & back. Build quality is OK, as far as fit and finish are concerned. So far its been reliable. Bought it with about 34K on the odometer, but it now has about 86K. Had one major repair under warranty, and the rest has just been routine maintenance. Appearance is OK. Interior is a mixture of budget and class. Exterior is average, and maybe slightly attractive. Gas mileage has been better than expected. Summertime, I get about 24 mpg city, and 33-35 mpg highway depending on average speed. Maintenance for the most part amount to $200/year over 3 visits. If you shutoff the traction control, its little more fun. With the TC on, it absolutely does not let the tires slip. Handles pretty good on the highway.
The only thing that I don't like about it is that it is really heavy. Hurts acceleration. The transmission is really sloppy. It only makes less than 20 miles per gallon from a V6
My wife loves her Saturn. It's comfortable and safe yet sporty enough to have fun.
I like it, its one of those hidden gems of a car.
